Divekick Controllers

All that and he failed anyway lol… that’s Bemani games for you.

@Darksakul Was it the yellow and green plastic Konami-made controller, or one of the handmade (usually wooden sometimes plastic) ones? I ask because the Konami controller don’t use the typical microswitch (like the kind used in Happ buttons) but some totally different form factor, if you figured out replacements they aren’t well-known and I’d like to know

It was a Custom wooden controller made for an Anime Convention’s game room. It used a old PSX digital pad PCB but the rest of it was wired up as if it was part of a arcade cab, with Barrier strips a fricking Jamma harness and everything. It mostly just need some switches to be changed out but I decided to organize the wiring as it looked like a rat nest inside and get rid of a redundant Jamma harness.

That’s cool. I still wonder what those “Konami ASC” switches are…

Just came across this on GiantBomb:

I got some buttons in today (These from twisted quarter)

As you can see, it has some sort of giant button plate in addition to the standard sized nut. Am I supposed to use that above the panel if I don’t want to cut a giant hole? Its kinda ugly with the gaps - I guess I’ll go see if arthong can do appropriate sized holes to make it flush.

Also, those lamp holders - would this work as a suitable LED replacement: http://www.paradisearcadeshop.com/en/pinball-leds/85-555-led-replacements-0855742000852.html

I believe the plug/socket shape is correct.

I’m thinking of buying the PDP Mortal Kombat Fightstick to use as the basis for my Kickbox since you can find them for relatively cheap on ebay/craigslist, and it shouldn’t be too hard to work with the wood top. Are there any known issues with the PCB?

Also, this looks like a promising to use as a compact d-pad to navigate the playstation menus

Yeah, the PDP pads are pretty strange (at least the fightpads, their sticks may be different). They are common ground, but if you treat them like that then they will fail. Treat it like a non-common pad and it should work fine. Alternatively, you could just get one of those eBay brand PCBs that are floating around now.

Make one person play with TWO beatmania IIDX ASC controllers. Two turntables, 14 key. XD
