Divekick Controllers

Mouse.

This is one fighting game that could be played with the PS3’s blu-ray remote.

It might be fun to mod a stick’s up and down to X and O and restrict it to 2 way operation. Or, we could restrict an Atari stick, it would be DiveKick in the palm of your hand.

Did anyone ever find out if the buttons used were the sanwa or happ light up buttons? I was going to buy a pair sometime and wanted to know which to grab.

I’m pretty sure there are instances where you want to press both in the new version of divekick, though.

:\ Didn’t know about that.

Pros do not Jump and Kick at the same time. :stuck_out_tongue:

They are the Suzo-Happ ones. I had to do a fix one one of the Dive Kick controllers at one of the tournaments before.

I love those happ buttons myself. Learned of it previously through Pop’n Music. I wanted to originally get 4 of those to make a Taiko peripheral for my DS, but it was fucking $10 a piece.

Found a nice future Dive Kick controller:

I wonder who manufactured the ones being used at NCR?

I’m thinking these are probably the buttons. Wish they were cheaper.

Dive Kick controller?.. Super Hexagon controller!

I believe it was mentioned long ago that they were using Pop 'n Music buttons - Sanwa OBSA-100UMQs.

I’ll probably be making an order soon. I wonder if anyone knew the spacing they used between the two buttons on the divekick controller (the ones that used suzo-happ buttons)

Maybe you have an idea gummo? I was going to modify an old hrap ex-se for this

Wait, are those buttons like $40 a piece?

These were the original ones used, exactly: http://www.arcadeshop.de/Illum-Buttons-Jumbo-Dome-Button-98-mm-blue_502.html

They should be the suzo happ ones, also located here: http://na.suzohapp.com/pushbuttons/954002xxxxz.htm

Since they came with lamps I swapped them out with bright white LEDs, and made it light on press. The hitbox crew did the ones you currently see set up with the game when it’s being shown off though, no light on press, just lights up… I dunno if they swapped the lamps or not. The ones I did are probably somewhere at iron galaxy, hah.

I think they’re 18" apart on center, but I don’t really remember and they also may have adjusted it on the hitbox versions.

They have a lifespan of 10+ years of daily play by the Japanese playing stuff like this on it:

you get what you pay for.

I talked to one of the DK guys (hah like donkey kong and those bongos) and they said Hitbox made them. And made sense coz they it’s the same metal housing just like the hitbox players at NCR

This is insane.

I once had to swap the microswitches out and rewire a Pop’n Music Controller.
