I love it how typical SRK forum trash judge Aris solely on that one incident before which A) they’ve never heard of him before at all because they’re 09 SRK/FGC in general trash and B) have not bothered and will not bother to look up anything else of him at all including his past, present or future in the community. People need to not be stupid. There arent as many eyes on the community at some events, but one day there could be like there was on that show. It goes beyond not being professional and sane acting like that on a stream. What if theres a competition that Namco puts on for a future Tekken game, do you think theyll let Aris onto that show??? If they have a single brain cell they wont let anyone who acts that way onto their show, and they shouldnt. Aris did commentary for Mortal Kombat in 2011, he didnt do any commentary this or last year even for TTT2, so that tells how acting this way will get you. What if him acting that way on the stream told all the other game companies not to have a similar show because they didnt want a sexual harassment controversy attached to their name and a bunch of dumb 13 year olds being pointed out in the open as their fanbase? People need to not be stupid and cut off their chances of their careers starting or keep going.

The comments here that “Miranda couldn’t handle some jokes” and “Whiteknighting” are great evidence that point to the large and very open amount of sexism that exists in the FGC. That video/conference got some things right, we are a sexist community and we need to address that.

Interpreting this as “sexist” is wrong because it was the exact opposite. He treated her exactly like he treats his buddies. Same style of dirty jokes that guys tell each other. It was a mistake on his part to assume that this random chick he doesn’t know will take it the way his buddies do, but it was not something that was made in an intent to cause harm, offend etc.
This problem was simply a big misunderstanding between “individuals”, and bringing in “groups” into this, like this somehow says something about other gamers, or “FGC”, or women only shows that most people don’t even understand what gender based discriminatory treatment (sexism) really means.
