So even though this turned out really bad, I’ll post it anyways.
Me against alukard on battle circuit last week. My deadpool didn’t get to do much though. Keep in mind that I had the tournament jitters and the fact that alukard has a godlike team. But yeah, about that Jill matchup? Lol enjoy guys
at 1:05 there was no reason not to chip her out with another meter. It was either he took the damage or cross-countered into another character in which then you could’ve XF’d and killed them, putting the momentum in your favor. Your overheads were a little bit predictable, you used it twice in almost the same exact situation, where they blocked Hawkeye assist. You also need to push-block a lot more, especially against Jill, because you want to be away from her as much as possible so that she can’t start her overhead cross-up mix-ups. Also, I would recommend more grenade usage, because I don’t think Jill can do her command dash through them, thus making her flip out in the air and allow you to put her in a bad situation. & at 2:30, one thing you can do is teleport behind the opponent after the Jam Session pushback, that can catch people off-guard at the start of the round.
Jill really should’ve been your main focus, to the point that it might’ve been worth burning XF, because all your characters do well against Sent and especially against Ironman. Against IM, I would’ve tagged in Hawkeye and have him with Jam Session because not only will Ironman have almost no answers to Hawk’s arrows with one of the best vertical assists, but you can also punish Proton Cannon on hit by neutral teching in the air and immediately doing Gimlet.
Always snap in Alukard’s IM, from personal experience. He’s the problem.
Like the commentator (was it bum? Sounded like bum but not sure) said, gun to teleport isnt safe (besides gun teleport grab) so dont do it. Just come in and footsie with c.L until you can confirm a hit.
Jill is a definite problem for deadpool. However what you have to realize in the matchup that jill is constantly having to do inputs for her different stances which means she cant always be blocking. Scope out opportunities and then look to confirm some c.Ls into big damage combos if you can catch her mid-stance-switch.
Also use more ninja stars. They’re his best projectile.
Yeah I notice now that I should have used everything to get rid of Jill. Also I always thought I never used enough grenades and started experimenting with them now.
And I never do guns xx teleport without an assist, I wanted to call hawkeyes assist but it wasn’t ready to be called out yet.

Does Deadpool have any good resets? A lot of the time when I start a combo with Unibeam the damage scaling is pretty high, I usually just opt to do guns xx Super when Unibeam hits them. The other option is teleporting toward them and doing a TAC infinite because high damage scaling is good in that scenario since you get to waste more of your opponent’s time. Still would like to know if there’s anything he could do with a teleport or something to reset.
Do anything into a grab. Deadpool nets grabs for free i’m not even kidding. They get hit by beam? Shoot guns, teleport, they pop out in the air and you grab them.
Or what i’ve been doing is combo off of beam with launch sj.MMHS and then throw a grenade while falling after you knock them down. If they wakeup neutral or roll backwards, the grenade blows up and locks them in place so you can teleport in and they can’t punish. If they roll forward, you shoot L guns to lock them down since you have a frame advantage and go for a teleport mixup.
Oh, by the way, if people were interested to see how ChrisG’s deadpool is progressing, he played a TON of casual matches on stream, using his Deadpool/Tasky/Dorm team (I use the same team, but I think changing the order and assists is necessary). It’s pretty cool, starts about 6 minutes in, and he plays it on and off for a while.

Just saying, so glad I picked Deadpool back up, I feel his movement is so crisp and clean, and him with Vajra, up and forward Task arrow assists, and even with dark hole, he’s just so damn cool.

Anyone not doing Deadpool (a)/ Doom (a)/ Vergil (y) is doing it wrong. Had this convo with Javibaby and Huoshen. Gotta pick up the broken shit if you wanna win. And deadpool with rapid slash is stupid broken.
That’s why I was thinking Deadpool/Vergil/Shuma or Deadpool/Vergil/Strider would be great, gets the advantage of having that swords DHC for a wonderful damage output, and Vergil gets a bunch of helm breaker conversions. Also, Mystic Ray is just too fun. I wish I knew how to play Shuma…
That’s only right if you’re playing Deadpool on point. I like/play him 2nd, which gives him access to meter and he has several options to save himself from the incoming mixup. Deadpool with rapid slash is just like Deadpool with any beam assist. Yeah, with rapid you could teleport or quickwork to convert guns into a whole combo, but having a combo being scaled by both guns and rapid slash almost makes it not worth it.
&I don’t know if I can trust Javibaby’s or Huoshen’s word because Javi doesn’t seem like that good of a Deadpool, &I’ve never seen Huoshen play Deadpool, if he even does.
Umm it totally makes it worth it. Because I play doom second. TAC infinite. Bang bang, dead character, 5 meters.
Javi was actually initially disagreeing, until I showed him some stuff in some casual matches that he found interesting. His wade isn’t quite up to par with mine or sexybeast’s or reichanman’s, but he’s got the right idea.
Huoshen doesnt play wade but he’s a smart enough player and knows enough about both deadpool and the metagame.
It’s just Doom/Vergil Shell + deadpool. It’s nothing revolutionary tbh.
I’d still personally rather run a better point character that can actually deal with other point characters well and run deadpool second. Double Jumps + Wall Jumps are the best incoming options. Screw airdashes when I can still block whilst getting out of things.
