Played around with this a little bit. Biggest combos I can probably try to pull off is ambiguous EX-Skulldiver -> c.MP c.MK xx HP Psycho for some ghetto wishful touch of death combo, it’s a decent 35-40% combo. It’s like almost half on the female characters and more like 60% on Seth. Too bad it doesn’t work on everybody. Will have to settle for EX-Skulldiver -> c.MP xx HP Psycho instead.
Still sucks, cuz wtb big consistent combos and maybe a reset or two.
Nothing new but just thought I’d list some anyway.
Blocked EX-Psycho Crusher (landing you in front of opponent) Frame Trap

Most of these work on majority of the roster, *** denotes specific characters don’t get hit by some of the stuff in the combo somewhere.
^who are those working on that you play Tony? How do you ever have enough time to throw out a hp after ex PC? seems like at best you would be at plus 1 or maybe if perfectly spaced plus 2 on block. and hp is 9 frame startup… mp is 7… doesn’t seem like that setup should work at all.
Blocked EX-PC on the tip is a little more like 3~4 which is good enough for Close s.HP setups since it’s 8f start. These work off FA2 dash ins really good too.
Ok I’m gonna try these in battle. But the math still doesn’t make sense. Seems like an online tactic, since I haven’t ever seen any of these in battle before. But hey, thats what endless is for… trying new things right
Not sure if the math makes sense to me-
EX-PC is +4
Cs. HP is 8 frame startup
So opponent’s have 4 frames to do something? That means every character can fit something in there if they expect you to try this?
Or is it the whole “only 3 frames to do something” so only chars with a 3 frame move can do something?
You’re not getting your limbs thrown during a combo… Your combo/blockstring has to be super off for you to get thrown during it.
I think the timing for them to do something is about 3~4f cuz I’m not even sure of the exact +frame advantage. It’s super tight. I’m getting varying results in training mode actually. I’ve had the close s.HP trade with 4f jabs on turbo.
Because even if the close s.HP counter hit doesn’t work, anything faster definitely will (e.g. close s.MP & c.MP)
And as for crouch tech OS punishing… you can punish mashers but pushing them far enough out of throw range with a safe block string and hitting c.HP too. Whatever you can kinda use to experiment with. Sometimes it feels like s.MK and s.HK gets grabbed by the limbs. It sucks man.
Edit: Yeah, so even if Close s.HP won’t work for specific characters that might have fast normals, Close s.MP works and it does link into c.MK after counter hit for another nice HP Psycho Crusher or HK Knee Press cancel. That’s a 2f trap I believe. I was trading with Bison c.LK on turbo and beating it.
It looks like these need to be full screen cuz the timing is super tight on the traps.
if they’re hitting stand throw during your block string this will hit them out of it. if they’re delaying stand tech you may have to stagger your shorts a bit. frame trapping is all about adjusting to your opponent. bison’s walk speed and 3 frame short make his tick throw / frame trap game pretty beastly
What’s the “safe PC setup” that keeps you from getting DP’d on their wakeup?
I thought j. fp aimed correctly always auto-corrects shoto DPs so you never get hit, but I noticed that Daigo’s Ryu forces a trade every single time instead of whiffing in the wrong direction. What’re the circumstances of this?
The Ryu player can delay his SRK a little bit, it will hit your j.HP then. For example, if Dictator does neutral throw, walk forward, j.HP and Ryu does a reversal SRK the SRK will whiff. If he chooses to delay the SRK instead it will trade or hit the j.HP.
Are people actually whiffing dp’s? Or are they just eating the chip (i.e. just blocking and not even attempting to reversal it)? If people are actually whiffing, I would say that the setups aren’t reliable to the point where people have learned to stop doing it.
If you see a shoto or someone else with a dp just eating the chip/knockdown, then its possible he may have found a reliable setup, because they know it’s pointless to try.
I haven’t watched Andre or Min in awhile to be honest.
All it is is slightly delayed after lk sk. The timing is sorta strict, but not one frame or anything. If you can get someone to reversal SRK in training mode untill you have it down you could probably do it 100% in matches. What’s funny is that it BEATS EX Psycho Crusher, I had it happen in a tournament in Atlanta and I almost lost it(laughter).
