Dictator Combo Thread: He rules with an Iron Fist...of Energy!

You can double tap the whole combo if you like. Also, you can p.link it if you want.

st.hp, st.lk double tap seems to be effective but thats going to be hard no matter what method you use

st.lk, st.hk you can p-link it easily

why would the jumpin have to CH? wiki says close fierce is +4, just enough for s.short on regular hit.

getting CH on the initial jump in wont make the st.hp st.lk any easier

iunno

Seems easier for me when I get a CH jump-in.

Maybe just the thought of the jump-in being a CH made it seem easier to do.

nah close fierce off j.rh/fierce is very free @ the right range

Nonono, what I thought was, if you get a CH, the whole combo will have CH stun like properties.

Guess not. :frowning:

whats a p-link? my sf4 vocabulary is at a all time low

http://forums.shoryuken.com/showthread.php?t=186686

its not necessary for the st.lk, st.hk link bc its p easy imo

doesnt hurt tho

Aside from being able to combo super from it, I don’t see why people prefer to combo into HK SK instead of HP PC whenever possible. The latter does more stun, and the same damage in combos. Am I missing something obvious?

HK scissor always keeps the same side, so unless you are comboing the opponent with your back to the corner, you will want to keep your spacing with HK Scissor instead of Psycho.

Also, the first hit of Psycho knocks down so you can’t FADC after unlike any scissor where FADC is an option. But my first reason above is probably 95% of the reason why (spacing) since Bison’s FADC is trash.

That makes sense then, considering how good Dictator’s corner pressure is, and the fact that stun doesn’t mean all that much.

i think his stun game is underrated

lately ive been focused on hitting more st.hps and st.hks than anything else

i think st.hp is a rly solid meaty against some of the cast

how come? as far as properties go, the most unique thing it seems to offer is force stand-- other than that, active frame window is only OK as far as meaties go (less meaty than c.mk even). what kind of tactical options open up for bison with a force stand?

ive been wondering, when i trade with shotos in the air sometimes im able to land cr mk to h sk. most of the time im eating a srk. ive gone into the habbit of deciding to just bait the srk. im just wondering if im fucking up my timing on the mk or they’ll win it if they decide to srk and ive only been winning because they havent been trying to dp

I’ve found that high hitting meaties are better than low hitting meaties as several moves are invul from the waist down but fewer are invul from the waist up.

ok i need some help i keep getting beaten by half decent Ryu’s, they all seem to use the same tactic on my bison, i get stuck in the middle on the screen blocking cross-ups. I can block most of it but sometimes they alter it and throw me.

I tend to charge to often? Alot of my combos never hit and i’m left vulnerable. Any tips? Cheers.

Also here is the revised Combo Pages i promised, just print them out at home or work, saves you time alt tabbing to hard to read text. Its not finished but i will post it again if i make further changes or add strategy sections to it.

ok first of all Bertross nice pics you got there very practical and easy to use if i need a quick referense to a combo… also i just want to give Supermin props for posting such useful info also, almost everything iv read they Supermin has posted has be useful and iv integrated much of the things he talks about into my own style which i feel is starting to look like something… so thank you Supermin

I spent almost an hour practicing this combo (cMP -> cMK) last night, and only managed to get it to land randomly a few times. What exactly do you mean by double tap it? Like hit cmp cmp cmk or something? I tried tons of shit, but just couldn’t get it to work (and I would like to, as I would like a better combo than cmk to SK as a shoryuken punisher)

Also, how does the FA lvl 3 -> jMPx2 -> Ultra combo work???

By double tapping I mean pressing the button for the link twice in quick succession so that you have twice the chance of pulling off the link. In this case it would be: cr.mp, cr.mk cr.mk. Double tapping is really only used if you have an arcade stick though, I doubt it works that well on a pad.

Anyways, you’re familiar with link combos right? If so, you shouldn’t really be having trouble with this combo. The timing might be a little tricky at first but you should be able to pick up it up pretty quickly if you’re linking the cr.mk right.

FA lvl 3 -> jMPx2 -> Ultra works when you hit an opponent in the air with the FA. The FA will send them flying, and then you’ll dash cancel, jump, j.mp x2 -> Ultra.
