Diablo 3?!

So there’s a queue eh… I hope it’s not like this when the game goes live as well.

Estimated wait time says 1 second, I been waiting about 10 mins now.

EDIT: Oh boy, error joining a game. Fuck it, back to Tera.

My game is laggy as fuck. My char runs like molasses and he shouts before he attacks. Please tell me I don’t need a better laptop to play this.

This shit made my laptop overheat on 800x600, with low fx LOL

China can’t wait for Cash AH.

I got about half way through the first quest before BNET went down for maintenance again.

I think it has a thread leak(s). When it D/C’d me from the net and I went back to the title screen, its main process was using over 100% CPU, meaning at least one full CPU was being used.

I quit and restarted it to the title screen. It was back to ~15% of one cpu.

Damn Bnet being down…

I think it should be renamed to Diablo 37. Anyone playing the beta (or trying to) will get that reference.

I’m not nearly as excited about this game as I once was years ago…

I tried it for a little while earlier today, and besides technical difficulties (mainly overheating/lagging my laptop), the game seemed linear to me. I didn’t find any extensive side quests (probably going to be in the full game) nor did I see much creativity in character building (I didn’t get to level 6 to mess with skill runes though). Seems like much of this game will be item farming.

Will try again late at night, BNet is getting operated on.

Also, lol at a witch doctor throwing a jar of spiders at enemies. I’m excited to see the different transformations skill runes add to this.

I hope you guys aren’t basing the whole game on 2 hours of beta haha

So you are making assumptions on endgame based on lvls 1-5? :stuck_out_tongue:

Sent using my imagination

Beat the beta last night, around 4 hours of gameplay/wandering around and punching/kicking things as a Monk, Lv. 10. It’s pretty fun, though I can understand where the complaints of the game being “linear” come from. Mob packs were easy to deal with for the most part. No D2-style swarms, save for a few parts.

But what you have to remember is that this is Normal mode, and it’s the introductory stage of the game. Of course it’s going to be easy. I’ll probably try Witch Doctor out later; he seems fun. I look forward to this game.

I haven’t played it with any friends yet, either. Should be good times.

One question, though. Will we be able to keep these characters for when the game comes out? I found some nice blue knuckles and other gear by chance that I don’t want to farm for.

I really want to play this game, but my graphics card is heating up like crazy just on the login screen. That rarely happens for me. The only other game that I recall this happening was titan quest.

So yeah, I’m gonna have to sit this one out. I don’t think my card will be able to handle this game.

Blizz never lets you keep your beta characters.

If the game seems like a grindfest early on there won’t even be an end game.

I don’t mind, I had fun playing, just my thoughts on the game so far.

Grindfest?
Nobody grinds early game lol
Its rush to inferno and then grind runs. Same M.O. as D2.

Someone should make a new thread when D3 comes out so they can include a list of all our gamertags.

Bnet back up, at least it’s working for me.

I finally got a wiz to 13 and energy twister isn’t that great, but the split rune on magic missile is pretty awesome, and is good dps on a single target if all 3 hit, or just fire it into a group to kill whatever, though I like spectral blades better because it looks cooler and that move does more hits sometimes on enemies I noticed. I think it depends on the cut pattern.

Wiz is my favorite so far, followed by barb, witch doctor, then monk. Didn’t try demon hunter yet. The wiz doesn’t need to build up arcane power, they just nuke shit right off the bat, and if you need more AP, you just wait 2 seconds with your signature skill, which are pretty damn good. Barb is fun when he has a full bar of fury, since he can go to town on everyone when he has it, but since he can’t retain it indefinitely and has to build it up, I like Wizards better.

Witch doctor didn’t feel the most effective but something about seeing a crapload of spiders, dogs, and bats on screen at once made it seem very awesome, even though it wasn’t the fastest way to kill things. They seem to burn mana fast, and it feels like it regenerates relatively slower than the Wizard, but looking at the numbers, its just the higher mana cost that makes it feel that way. Machinegun blowdart is also fun to play around with though. Monk has such cool looking signature moves (left click) like teleporting lightning punchs, but I didn’t like their right button skills a lot, though i didn’t get the level 13 one yet. I felt like that hurt their dps a lot, since the tempest rush seemed to be kind of weak and the first one does a lot of pushback and needs to be in their face. Though it is cool to do the pushback kick and then teleport after an enemy.

I can’t run Diablo 3 or Path of Exile. I gotta play Torchlight 2 instead. I’m messing around on my fire sorc in D2 here and there still, and am messing around on my new trap assassin. Good times.
