I’m so with you on this one. Day 1 purchase for sure, but will I play is as long as I played SC2 or D2 for that matter? We will see… The thing about the beta that I really didn’t care for was the music and it didn’t feel “scary” to me…
I kinda wanna know how gaining runes as you level is a bad thing.
Keep in mind I’ve seen loads of arguments against it in other forums/sites/etc., approx. 0 of which were valid.
Runes for leveling is such a good idea.
People don’t like it because when they hear runes they immediately think D2 and ask “WHY WOULD I GET FREE RUNES?”
Blizz should just rename Runes to Techniques. And everyone will be happy.
This is an item hunting game, not a skill hunting one.
Had this pre-ordered since E3 last year for $40. I assume buying digitally the price is the usual $60? I’m in the playing the beta made me less hyped camp so I can wait for my order to ship and play it a day after everyone else.

Because since the runes unlock as you level up, the higher level runes tend to be better. Thus instead of having 8 viable tweaks to a bunch of moves, you get 1-2 viable combinations at the highest level. I think it’s going to stifle people too much. But who knows, maybe the higher tiers won’t actually be automatically stronger
It also gives you one less thing to grind for, and one less thing to set you apart from somebody else. Plus since they already said killing bosses isn’t really where the best loot is at… I’m not really sure what their plan for the game is
Holy shit this game looks better than D3… But probably won’t be as good, we shall see.

May 15th…I’ll be working part-time soon, too. I have to build a PC or get new ram+video a card for my old PC since I just looked up the minimum requirements. I’ll probably just do the cheap route and buy some random 512MB video card and 1-2GB’s of ram. I’m gonna see how much the CE of D2 goes for on Ebay, I have the battle chest but I lost my expansion disc case. I lost my cd key with it, but I used a program that told me my D2 XP CD-key. Now in my battle chest their’s a little piece of paper with my D2 XP CD Key written on it.
Yeah you were playing at a time where Hammerdins were top tier because 1.10 patch was new and they were cheap to gear up. None of the other characters(tiers) got fleshed out yet, so back then, Hammerdins were king. Then people started exploring other builds and specs with various different characters and Hammerdins went from 3S Chun tier to Sean tier.
