The problem with ryu is you can’t play fireball war with him, you gotta expect that hurricane kick every single time or else he’ll be in your face.
Lately im thinking abel is sim’s worst matchup. Too far is no good he’s gonna keep focusing fires too close he might roll/cod/wheel kick and hell breaks loose.
I seem to have a lot of trouble with Balrogs/Boxers. I guess he gets in on me pretty easily unless I use ex fireballs. This match is just UGH to me.
Other than that, I’m really getting annoyed with dp-spamming ryus/kens. I guess it may be lag online that allows people to get another dp out before getting punished for whiffing one.
Yeah Balrog seems to give me the most problems, just because he is the best character to close the distance and get through Dhalsim’s defensive style. You need super crazy reflexes to grab Balrog out of his EX punches, and be able to know which one he’s going to do from a distance ASAP so that you know whether you can grab or not. Once your down, it’s strongly in Balrog’s favor and he can do that light punch buffalo combo thingy into ultra and it hurts.
I thought it was possible to grab him out of all his EX and his normal ones except for Dash Straight (I think thats what its called, the one where his arm punches you straight in the face). Just keep zoning him with Fires till he gets meter. By then you should have at least 1 bar. Then you have to start playing more safer. Once he gets meter I’ll probably only throw a Fire from full screen, since I can recover and use a limb to hit him again and stop him from getting closer.
just be really patient man, boxer cannot get you from close, use alot of lp fireballs and try to think your next move on how your going to zone him, most like he is going to jump, so j.mp will keep him down. remember, its not all about always beating a character, just be patient and you’ll be fine my man. most of the time i win with sim is just cause i know the little fundamentals of the game, and knowing where and how to poke all characters. i messed up alot due to i hardly play on squaregates lol but i hope this helps you a bit.:tup:

You can grab all EX punches, and it doesn’t require super reflexes at all. I got crap reflexes and I can do it probably 99% of the time providing he’s 3/4 screen away.

yeah the way i play i dont really do anything cool or fancy, im just patient and dont really teleport(unless i see a safe time to do it) or jump alot, just knowing how to poke and having good defense is all you need:tup:, but yet again thats how sim is respectively played ^.^

alot of cammy players think that she’s got the advantage in this matchup… cammy can stack huuuge amount of damage against sim… and once she’s IN… she’s in for the win…
the matchup is more like 6-4 (in cammys favor)

i faced an awesome sim lately… frustrating at times… but so much fun!
All of cams attacks are extremely fast and powerful, but can still be kept away, j.mp and b.mp are helpful in this match against her. smart sim players knows not to throw Fireballs against her when she has EX cause she’ll hooligan throw you. so baiting limbs is always good, Yoga Tower included and b.mp punishes the ex or regular hooligan throws. if she throws out her burning knuckle, lk slide or mk slide will stop her, but i recommend the lk slide since sim recovers faster. backdashing to get spacing is bad at the wrong time cause she can spiral arrow and knock you down. If s.hp is blocked at about 2/4ths of the screen she can heavy spiral arrow you, knocking you down. its always best to do c.mp, s.lk, c.lp and some s.mk pokes since sim will recover from them fairly well they dont do much at all , but its just to frustrate and create your space again. corner is the hardest part, she’ll rush you down, but if shes keeping you down with the divekick, cb.lp will hit punish her and wont do much damage, she still be in your face , but gives little time to know what your going to do next. when she doesnt have meter, fireball her from 2/4ths of the screeen or further away and most likely she’ll either jump so j.mp will help you out, but smart cammy players will just block them.

no matter who the character is, there is just simply no easy win for sim.
Sinister X! I just saw you had most recent post in SF4 forum so I looked here! Not that I know Dhalsim very well but I think he is disadvantaged against Cammy and Fuerte, and possibly Balrog and Viper. They have high offense and damage, except Balrog who has really good normals and a crazy jab to kill you if he’s close. Just how I see it. Maybe you know something I don’t, but just because you beast on em doesn’t mean your character inherently has advantage in the matchup Sinister :looney:
haha whats up man, oh of course. Balrog is a very tough match regardless along with ELF, but they are even 5-5 knowing that they have to get close to beat win., Viper and Cammy are 6-4 as i recently posted cause they are characters that come in fast and do major damage to sim. Like ELF is very fast too, but j.mp punishes if he jumps off the wall and yogatower will mess up his tortilla, but he mostly needs a wake-up game for the most part to win against sim. I only talk and post from the experiance i played against the characters. ^.^
