zangief en Fuerte are the only problems

lol wat.
Elf isn’t too much of a problem really, it’s just a matter of knowing what to do for his stupid guessing game on wake up, and always quick rise when you can.

Balrog is just such a horrible match-up for my sim. Just turns in to a Jab-a-thon. I’m actually a little lost on this match up

USing reversal teleport isn’t safe against El Fuerte?

reversal teleport is never safe on wake up

I was referring if El Fuerte do Habanero Dash. Teleport is a great solution if you don’t want to guess. But probably Habanero Dash --> slide will hit your teleport…

teleporting is a guess. just like everything else, it’s a risk/reward, it beats some stuff and gets beaten by other stuff. very rock/paper/scissors.
a fuerte can like you said slide and also delay a body splash, empty run and then react etc. I think you even risk eating an infinite if the fuerte player baited you.
from my experience teleporting on wake up against fuerte is a bad idea.

Habanero Dash Just fadc It en youre safe

Ohh en i found somthing new when a abel has ultra just do yoga fire en fadc it en the abel player will fall 4 it en do his ultra :stuck_out_tongue: after it you get a free hit :stuck_out_tongue:

FADC-ing Fuerte’s Dash is a good idea, but dont abuse it or he’ll do a grab and punish you for it. Backdash is one of the safest options still I think.

With FADC-ing the Fire bait, isnt that a waste? What combo would you do afterwards? Can you even reach him with a worthwhile combo? All I can think of at the moment is a HK Slide/st. HP. Sure you could set up an Ultra with HK Slide but Im pretty sure he can reversal EX roll out of it.

Question on some Boxer shenanigans.

How do you guys deal with a boxer player that sits there jabbing away after he gets a hit on you waiting for you to make a move. Most of the boxers I have played lately runs to the corner holding down the jab (turbo) button once they get a hit on you.

This happened in one of my matches. First round he gets a hit on me so I stood in one end of the screen waited to see what he would do. He just sat at the corner jabbing the whole time till the round ended!

Seems like I can never sneak up on him because once he sees me teleport he is jabbing away and I always get hit.

Does his jab have more priority than anything in this game? It seems to cancel a lot of Dhalsim’s attacks.

Any tips would be appreciated.

You Got 2 options

-if you do it at a short distange you can do back mk into yoga flame after the fadc

-it you do it at a far distange you can do hp hkslide into ultra or mk slide into lk slide into super:p or grab

AS far For 4 ryu’s hurricane kick you can do froma far distange hp en from a short distange back mk into yoga fire:d:wgrin:

They really should have not added turbo on the TE joysticks. Some people abuse that thing to the max.

Well, the only thing I could think of is to minimize your distance to where your fireballs and your standing fp can hit him. keep throwing fireballs and following it up with standing fp. delay the standing fp a bit because boxer can counter your fireball with turn around punch or by jumping over it. that way, you have a bit of time to react to either his jump or turn around punch. the standing fp should hit his turn around punch, but what i usually like to do is use sliding hard kick. puts him down on the ground and gives me an opportunity to set up a trap using BNB combo (i.e. weak yoga fire -> iat -> bnb). This is the only thing i could think of. I’m sure some of the more knowledgeable dhalsim players on this forum might or can come up with a better suggestion. hope this helps though.

damn turbo button lol.

Thanks rkenshin for the tips! Those turbo users are becoming more prevalent than rage quitters these days.

They said using turbos will mess up your combo links. Well if you can jab at machine gun rate who needs to link combos right? hehe.

you should be winning with sim if a boxer is purposely staying away. just keep tossing out yoga fires (don’t spam them) and wait for the reaction. you can punish everything boxer can do to get out of blocking a yoga fire (yes even ultra, medium slide ftw) if you can get boxer in a corner, he really doesn’t have any tools to get out. just don’t get predictable with the yoga fires.

also on a side note, i think gen loses to sim. the only thing gen has going for him is jumping in on wake-up vs sim, but that’s pretty much the same with everyone else anyway. his jump can’t clear b+bp, and his wall jumps are slower than slow. you can keep him out with just standing hp and hk all day really, he can’t chase sim for shit.

against a player that knows boxer, he will headbutt once he wakes up if he sees this set up. his headbutt goes thru FB’s, n if you’re IAT’ing for the setup, he will more than likely hit u when u appear.

Anyone talk about Honda yet??? If I’m getting beat consistently by a character its Honda. I think I win maybe 2 out of 10. He’s like a super fast ver of geif minus the lariat. His damage is sick, it feels like one mistake and your dead.

Learn to block his Sumo Splash cross ups I think. His empty jump, Oicho is annoying as well, be careful of that. Im not sure how to fight against this though, probably just insta-HK Drill or something. Im not sure if you can punish his Headbutt like Blankas, but it puts him out of range so thats good. Be careful of his jumping HP as well, it trades/beats your st. HK. Oh yeah, and beware of his Hundred Hand Slap. It’ll beat any random limbs you throw out.

Against Headbutt, block and punish with s.HP.
Against Sumo Splash, as soon as you see it starts, focus attack and punish.

Keep Honda far from you, so he cannot grab you with Oicho.

I got double perfected today by a Seth…have absolutely no idea how to fight him. Any suggestions?

good seths are tough. One thing I started doing that helps is when he shoots out a sonic boom, instead of blocking, which allows him to wall jump towards you and start crossing you up…I jump straight up. If he wall jumps, I poke him with s.mp. If he walks towards me, I let out a hp. Everything is pretty much don’t do anything stupid and always be aware of his teleport, which you can throw him right out of if you’re fast enough. Most good seths won’t just teleport randomly though, but you never know. Every once in a while, If you can predict he will toss out a sonic boom, you can jump towards with hp (seths recovery on those things is pretty bad). Even better if you can IAT to bnp.

Good news is seth has even lower hp than sim…
