i suggest not using drills to do damage
ultra into (any move that does more than 35/.8) into super does more damage than ultra super, it’s just algebra

Quick question…
What are some teleport cancels that I can use? I feel that Dhalsim canceling teleport can be a pretty decent keepaway tatic to use against Zangief and maybe Balrog. Like guerilla warfare, run in, do some damage, run out. So are there some teleport cancels?
b.mk would be the best to cancel into tele because it has great range. You should be careful though because both of the characters you mentioned can easily bunish back teleports. Don’t base a game off it but it’s worth it to mix it up with canceling into fireball or just keeping up fake blockstrings
Allright so I’ve been trying to expand my options of playing multiple characters. I main Viper but so far also play a decent Gen and Rufus (know pretty much all the setups for ultras and bnb combos). So anyway, I always was interested in Sim but never really got around to playing him.
My problem is that I cannot even do a (instant) teleport into mk yoga flame, it’s like he has a really weird timing thats exclusive to him, any tips on that? Anyone else had this?
b.mp too! Good midscreen anti air tactic.
You’re right… Instant air teleport -> midair FP -> b.MK -> LP yoga flame DOES have some strange timing.
First of all, the only yoga flame that will actually combo from b.MK is LP.
When cancelling the b.MK to yoga flame you have to remember that the cancel point actually occurs when the b.MK HITS the enemy. The timing on this varies slightly with distance, you just have to get a feel for it.
Practice by doing a normal b.MK -> LP yoga flame. You’ll find that the timing is fairly lax so just relax and enter the commands smoothly.
And I learn something obvious everyday here it seems
think he meant b.mp into teleport… or was that the obvious thing you were refering to?
lol yeah that’s it. I’ve been learning a lot of shit that i should know just by common sense but never put into practice

This video just popped up showing Dhalsim’s answer to Sonic Hurricane’s Combo Challenge 08: Variance.

Good stuff
yeah, you can do a lot of combo with tool assistant
Obliviously nothing you can do in a real match
I think this topic need a full update, with the most useful combos only.
All 4 of them?
Not sure if this has been found out yet but i was just in training mode trying to get the b.lp overhead, short slide xx super (its really tough!) but I accidentally found just straight up b.lp overhead, super. I can get it about 35% of the time (it must be like a 1 frame link)
Yeah the b. mp overhead into super is pretty well known, but it’s always sweet to find things out by yourself.
Iyo is pulling of the b. lp overhead quite a lot in his later matches:)
I hit b.LP then as the animation is ending i do the super and piano all of the punches.
b.mk into jab flame is hard. The reason is mostly because b.mk has such short hitstun that even if you properly cancel it into jab flame it won’t combo, because it takes a while for the hitbox for the flame to fully extend.
I’ve been maining Dhalsim for over a year and I still have trouble with that cancel. Lately I’ve been doing IAT b.hp, b.hp xxx mp. Flame or even EX Flame. Does more damage and it’s easier to connect. The biggest problem is that b.hp has less reach than b.mk.
Isn’t it safter to do j.hp after the IAF incase the b.hp will whiff?
I almost always do jb.HP because it comes out faster. I got sick and tired of hitting j.HP and having the arm animation come out but be too close to the ground for it to actually hit. You can visually recognize if the opponent is too far away to be hit with jb.HP but after a teleport they rarely are.
I REALLY don’t think b.MK -> lp flame is a big deal. It’s just not that hard given enough practice. If you can get away with b.HP -> MP flame then that’s optimal, but there will be MANY MANY times when the range simply doesn’t allow for it. (I’d even say most of the time.)
