Dhalsim's Combos

Unless you’re inhumanly fast with the stick, I don’t think there’s any other way to input this. Only way I’ve been able to do this is the way you describe

if it’s the motion that makes you succeed most of the time, it’s optimal for you

sorry if this was already answered, but after the IAT why do j.HP when j.HK does more damage?

that shit pops out faster.

b.HP hits crouching too

Silly ground combo that does decent damage:

Down-back hp, back+hk
80+110 = 190

Only really works when the db.HP is close to the opponent, otherwise the b.HK will whiff. It’s a 2 frame link though, so a bit easier to pull off than db.hp. db.hp.

A combo my brother did:
do ultra
headbutt into the ultra, iat ex yoga fire b+lp or mp i think.

I’m having a lot of trouble canceling the Yoga Flame into super…specifically during the bread and butter combo. Anyone have any advice for me?

This is something that people have answered many times. Unfortunately, there is no real secret to it. Just go into training mode and do it over and over. The key is not to hesitate during the combo at all, as soon as you do the flame motion, go straight into the two quarter circle motions for the super. It’s just a matter of doing it over and over and getting a feel for it. Most people say that landing the super is easier than landing the flame once you get it down. Although I’m not one of those people lol.

Call me a moron if you want, but the best way for me to hit the super into an yoga flame is to mash hadoukens during the yoga flame.
So basically you yoga flame and right after that you start MASHING LIKE A SCRUB qcf+P, qcf+P, qcf+P, qcf+P, qcf+P, qcf+P, qcf+P, qcf+P, qcf+P.

It works 100% of the time for me, it’s the only way I can consistently do the BnB combo, and I know it’s ugly, but hell, it works

hum… im moron too. i did the same thing lol

The best way for me learning was a combination of both. When in a match after the flame I would mash QCF + P just to get it out but in training mode to do it one fluid motion with just one button press. Because doing mk xx lp.flame over and over can get a bit boring, in training mode try lp. flame straight into super in one smooth motion.

Don’t think of it as 2 separate motions but just the one. There is approximately a full second after the super input that you will see the super actually come out so don’t wait for the flame animation to finish then do the super. So any time I have super once I do the flame the super input is already in motion and I only press punch again on hit.

The tricky part for me is comboing it off the instant air teleport + b.HP. I can do the b.MK to Yoga Flame to Yoga Inferno just fine.

I know exactly what the problem is – negative edge is kicking your ass.

Basically, in your BNB, tap/double-tap your MK and RELEASE, THEN do the flame cancel.

What you seem to be doing is holding MK for too long during your bnb, and when you release it the game is registering that as your input for the flame motion. You might press light punch and then computer will even recognize your light punch, but not as an input thats related to the flame – its being negated by the negative edge MK.

I was having this issue as well, thanks for your advice. I still have a lot of trouble pulling this combo off consistently, it really does require a lot of practice. I still mess up the instant air teleport half the time.

How long did it take you guys to get the combo down? I kind of feel like a noob because I’ve been working on it for a week now and I can just barely manage the b.MK -> Yoga Flame -> Super Cancel.

Landing it against a real player is another story entirely.

Keep at it – it took me forever to be able to apply this combo in actual gameplay. Truthfully, whether or not my super comes out is STILL kinda hit-or-miss.

A bunch of months later and bnb xx super is still something I practice in training mode all the time.

With me, if i DON’T think about the super, I can do it easy, if I start thinking about it, thats when I don’t get it to come out, because I start trying to hard. I noticed when I was practicing BnB - super, you have more time then you think to do it.

Meanwhile- negative edge is still fucking me up. Its more so teleporting from 2p to 1p into BnB.

I always do the super motion, even if I don’t have meter. If I hit confirm (see that the opponent didn’t block) then i execute the super every time (again, even if I don’t have meter).

It took a while of working on it… At first i was doing b+mp, lp flame, super. because the timing is easier…

The problem with using b+mp is the same as the advantage… It has much less range… In the BnB you’re cancelling your ground hit (wether it be b+mp or b+mk) into the yoga flame. Cancelling requires timing based on when the attack hits. Therefore, since b+mp has a shorter range the moment that you hit the opponent is always about the same… b+mk, on the other hand, has a much longer reach and therefore if the opponent is further away the “hit” will come later, causing the yoga flame cancel to come later.

Don’t bother using b+mp, yoga flame, super. There’s no reason to train with it or handicap yourself with its use. Rather, go into training mode and practice cancelling b+mk into yoga flame from different distances. Once you do this for a while you should be golden.

It’s generally a good idea to go into training mode and practice a technique that you’re working on for 5-10 minutes, then go into online matches with the intent of pulling it off. Even if your game suffers from you having to think in order to implement the new moves (as opposed to just doing what comes naturally) it’ll quicken the whole process.

I keep messing up the instant air teleport…any advice there?

forward , down , down forward ,forward, up forward and then press the 3 buttons
