I’m starting to think that YHC is just one hell of a player and not one hell of a Sim player. If that makes any sense. Like, he has gdlk reactions/execution, but I still think Art and Champ have better Sims.

I don’t check these forums on my days off (Sun/Mon) so I usually just send a text to myself to post interesting thoughts/vids/etc. when I come in on Tuesday. Interesting. It appears that when you focus c.FWD you can forward dash under ryu’s fireball reliably. That new to me.
Also, you seem to use that taunt a lot in regular gameplay. Are you worried about playing in a tournament that doesn’t have it unlocked?
Yoga tower is not a taunt.
Though seems many people think that’s a taunt; I got kicked once by someone then got a msg saying, “don’t taunt me”…

I’m talking about Dhalsim’s taunt (i think #8 maybe?) where he stands on one foot and bends up. If you want the video you’ll see.
its taunt #3 and no im not worried about using it in a tourney cause i don’t taunt in tournies, I would always rather just get my round and keep playing then worry about a taunt. I did the taunt cause that ryu player pisses me off in casuals, so I counterpicked him hard. lol

Sorry, my bad, I saw you mention “a lot” so I thought you were talking about yoga tower in that video, he used taunt once. I guess you were also referring to his other game plays. I guess that comment along with my experience(getting kicked for using yoga tower as taunt) got me thinking wrong. I knew you must know better since I see your posts all the time.

lmao first time i fought Sim I thought it was a taunt too. Even Hakan’s oil up thing. xD I play Juri and some people think her counter move is a taunt. I used it and then this Dudely started throwing roses at me

First advice, don’t choose U2. He used U1, that’s a paradox
No reason to use Shangri-La, 'cause it cannot punish jumpin/dive kicks and cannot making space.
Vs dive kick spam, unfortunately he knew how to punish your db.mp O-S. Then use b.mp instead: it will not cover all Rufus options but it beats divekicks.
Don’t jump backwards if you’re out of the corner. Don’t give him space for free, try to hurt him as more as possibile before being cornered again.
Use less fireball, he was jump happy.
I actually don’t have much experience in the match up, so its great to get feed back like this!

I am really scared against Rufus so thats probably why I dont stand my ground very well. Ill work on that! What are my best pokes against a cornered Rufus from half screen away?
Rufus covers a great distance when jumping indeed, so I should definitely stop throwing “lazy” fireballs:(
As for the shangrila, I agree, but I am known for using that ultra in Norway and was kind of pushed my team mates to use it, because I am the only one who does! Tried to rep that ultra as much as possible this weekend:P

I think this isn’t so cut and dry. Just like Cammy his dive kick not only escapes U1 easy but also if he does land on it often you’ll only get one hit. I’ve been hitting U2 a lot against neutral jump dive kick, it’s pretty easy to catch.
Yeah, probably that’s just my 2 cent in that matchup. But even if it hit once with U1, you get a free escape, and I think this is the most important factor here… U2 is very good to zone (catching the neutral jump->dive kick as you said), U1 can break the opponent rushdown pushing him away. That’s why I like it more.
Do you have any tips? just doing on reaction looking at space?
So quick fun note i noticed while watching Fchamp at Socal (Ithink) and its somthing we can explore more.
When Rufus is doing his stupid Dive kicks and Sim is in the corner, as long as Rufus doesnt have ultra 2 loaded, If sim could get just one b.lk off, the spacing is perfect for a U1. If Rufus tries to messiah out it clips him, but If sim just pops it off in front of rufus then Rufus’s messiah kick goes through it clean.
Im wondering what kind of set ups (aka ways to get out of the corner against dumb chars) we can look at

Bison
Balrog
viper (?)
So I guess the point of this is creating a set of normals (the fewer the better) while sim is in the corner in which when U1 is popped, theres nothing your opponent can do about it (except maybe excluding Ultra, cause that might be asking for much).
And also gore i 100% agree with your post on simsim’s match, b.mk is the best in this match up. Its soo good that im almost thinkng this is a 5.5 match up instead of 6-4 (im sure karma is gonna kick in and ill lose to a rufus at nec -_-;; )
