Funny story from last night… so I start an endless lobby, and a name I recognize from the Sim leaderboards jumps into my room (BIG KSun106). So he picks Sagat. He’s an 11k Sim on leaderboards, and I was hoping to get a mirror match, but he goes with Gat. I absolutely annihilate him… he’s laggy, and I don’t feel like playing a shit Sagat, so I boot him. I message him “You should stick with Sim :)” — not thinking that I was being disrespectful or anything… and he messages back “That was my friend. Accept my invite.” I sigh aloud at his obvious embarrassment of his loss, and hesitantly accept his invite. I message him back saying “Sim mirror, first to 3.” We play… and I promptly proceed to 3-0 him. Apparently, the only buttons that work on his arcade stick are fierce punch and short kick… I message him saying “Use less sliding lk! ggs! :)” — I made sure to include the smiley. Again, I didn’t mean for my message to be hurtful, offensive, or crude. The dude was literally going for slide tick throws ALL MATCH LONG. No idea on Earth how this guy got his Sim to over 11k. Anyways, he messages me back something along the effect of “I’m drunk. I hope you die of AIDS. Your arrogance makes me laugh” — along with other grammatically atrocious and laughable expletives. I rejoinder that I, too, was drunk, but I don’t make vaginal excuses when I lose.

Awesome vid dude! I love that you didn’t use your super in round 2 after ultra, which would have connected, but would not have killed Rufus. Round 3 is impatience personified. Rufus could have lamed that round away for free, but I’m glad of the end result

Its easier said than done tho and in the end you do it more by luck/online lag than anything else

b.mk xx super is confirmable. it’s quite tight, but I think the biggest problem is that you have to be quite close for the super to actually hit.
since my super hit him during that focus, he already released it. otherwise he could have backdashed. tough it’s worth noting it’s almost always a good thing for him to release it instantly vs sim.

Really not sure why YHC never uses tower or ex.up flame in this matchup. Ex up flame is a great vortex deflector against Ibuki, and I would only NOT use it if I was very close to, or if I had a full special meter. B.mp is good if you know it will connect, but if not, you’re gonna eat a combo.
I agree with you Pez. I mean, using the ex up flame against Ibuki is a pretty elementary defense, surprising that it wasn’t incorporated. Dude obviously isn’t well practiced, or maybe his mind wasn’t in the right place, but that is a simple way to fend off Ibuki. I always hate it when the player isn’t well-versed in knowing how to fight off the various characters. Waste of quarters if you ask me.

lol I actually play a few quality Ibukis here in central FL, so I’ve gotten fairly adept at this occasionally aggravating matchup. I am light years behind YHC, but I was just pointing out that there are a few tactics that he has not yet applied to this matchup. Then again, for all I know, these 2 have played each other extensively and he might have switched his patterns up a little bit. shrugs
