Crouch fierce that noob ass ryu tatsu. He was so disrespectful but then again you were letting him get away with that shit. Wake up ex flame is ballsy vs ryu. Back grab ex flame dash ultra then back dash = guaranteed chip damage cuz if he jump at you you can AA if he back dash he has to block or ex flame hit him you can try for some teleport mix up too i did it in my vid vs ryu above. Dont be scared hes not zangief stand your ground. Just work on defence.

Watched the first vid. I’ll just break it down by time to make it easier to reference where I’m talking about.

0:35 Ryu dropped his combo, here you have a chance to escape using either IAT back or backdash but instead go for a jump back, Dhalsim’s jump is way to slow as an escape tool and going air to air with ryu is really risky (often trades that aren’t in your favor).

0:42 You go for an EX fireball teleport mix up but the ryu jumps out. I would have stayed my ground and tried to make ryu eat the chip, you could have played the keep away game at that distance.

0:51 Back c.hp those ground tatsus.

0:56 You throw out an unsafe s.hp. This is something I have started to pay closer attention to in my game. From inside 3/4 screen distance don’t throw out s.hp on ryu because if he guesses right you might have lost yourself the game. S.mp is your friend at that distance. Especially when you recognize that your opponents main strategy of getting in has been through jumping and ground tatsus.

1:03 Backdash after you release an U1 that close to an opponent, pulls the screen edge closer to them so they can’t just walk back from the chip damage. Also puts you in a position to mix them up.

1:05 You teleport towards ryu which was very ballsy if this ryu was any good, cause he could have just s.lp you then tried to mix u up when u landed. He had two stocks and an ultra, def could have easily lost you the round.

1:27 You jump back to avoid fireballs. Not really something I would reccomend given you are already at full screen and are only pushing yourself towards the corner. YT or focus absorb them to build some meter.

1:41 You jump forward and land a j.hp and s.mk combo. But then you are right next to ryu which puts you in a bad spot. You then try to jump away which is again a bad decision but you make a smart back dash to reset spacing and land a good anti air.

1:49 Nice ex uplflame, I would’ve just done a b.mp into fireball to reset spacing but that works too. However the ex fireball after is a waste of meter. The ryu can easily avoid it. You also missed the anti air right after cause it looks like you try to jump back.

I just watched the second vid where you play a much cleaner game by keeping the ryu out. In the second round you should have walked ryu into the corner after a fireball but instead you walked backwards. Then you threw an ex fireball and tried going for an IAT combo but just put yourself near the corner.

Thank you for the input man… This is the best Gief in Norway and he has quite a lot of Dhalsim experience, so I need all the advices I can get!

Here is me playing a set of first to 5 with the best Rose in Norway… He beat Yota and Micvlad at SvB so he knows the match up too:

latest arturo vs daigo vid. im juz speechless. wad juz happened lol.

Dude, watching the stream live, I almost spat Coors Light out of my mouth in disbelief. You can see he fished for it a few moments before he actually connected. It’s one thing to get it down in training mode, it’s a whole entire 'nother thing doing it with 10,000k live viewers on stream, plus a room packed full of rabid wolves. If this doesn’t make the Top 5 Hypest SSF4 moments ever, I don’t know what does.

lol daigo’s reaction after it ended was like ‘‘isnt this normal?’’. priceless expression on his face lol

Love the U2 closer at the end of this match. So satisfying considering my poor record with Rose.

u2

that was hot

Thanks guys:) But I find that you have all the time in the world to react to the reflect, if you are prepared for it. No really. Try it out in training mode;)

yeah thats what i was reffering too, it actually helped me alot cause iwasnt sure what Ultra i liked in this match
now i know ^^

For sure ultra 2 IMO:P The other video with the “Broken ultra” against Gief, that was the Rose with the “biased commentary”. I have played against this Rose player so much, and he feels that I shut him completely off with U2. He can’t fireball too close, he can’t jump at me and he can’t reflect or neutral jump if he is not full screen (which makes him reach the corner real fast). With short slide x2, it is really easy to catch neutral jumps or reflects. When Rose reaches the corner, the match is basicly over (If Dhalsim doesn’t have no life at all). The only thing I found Rose can do, is focus absorb and backdash or fireball and fadc backdash, since her backdash has airborn frames and is godlike:P

It’s weird to see a Rose player reflect Sim’s fireballs so much. It’s so easy to stuff her reflect or to trade a s.FP with your own fireball at your advantage. Reflecting that close to Sim was just asking for punishment. In general I think that reflecting Sim’s fireballs needs to be a carefully planned action.

In this matchup I specifically bait the reflect so that I can punish clean or trade.

Good match. My only 2 observations were that you had predictable 3/4th-full screen fireball patterns, which Gouken capitalized on twice. He can EASILY get 40-50% off a missed fireball. His combos HURT Sim… badly. Second observation was that you might be overusing j.fp (excluding yoga snipe). Use more j.mp. There were at least 2 occasions where you would have hit Gouken if you opted for this weaker (but more ranged) attack. Also, I find that b.mp is a better aa against his dive kicks than b.hk, but it’s all relative to spacing.

I love your Sim, you really know how to means ZONING. Love also your backdashes and your reflexes.
My 2 cents:

  • if you slide under her, use b.mk xx flame lp instead of grab (use that 50/50)
  • she mirrored too much fireball, I know IAT is generally unsafe, but sometimes the risk is acceptable.
  • be careful to wake up with backdash or teleport. I think Rose could use some O-S to beat them easily.
  • use LIAT (f,d,df,f,uf+PPP) after a backward grab+ fire and use some mixup.

I question that Gouken’s familiar with the Sim matchup. One Gouken I know “Massive Cosby” doesn’t approach the match anything like that, to (i think) better effect.
