Don’t know where to post this, and don’t want to make an entirely new thread so:
Anyone else find it weird that Dhalsim can’t do flame (that one I kind of understand) or upflame (this one I don’t understand) while he has a fireball on the screen?
Particularly upflame being blocked off while fireballing seems like an unnecsessarily restriction. What about making the shotos unable to do a shoryuken while they have a fireball on the screen? I know Dhalsim has “shoryuken normals” when it comes to anti airing, but a fast ex upflame after a fireball would be awesome:P

Apparently this Sim is Iyo and he plays on PSN. I can’t confirm but he does play fairly similarly to Iyo.
Seems his way to play. Greater control of pokes. Nice find!
Maybe someone could look for more replays of him?
ok any sims going to road to evo??? im going but my crew in MA might not be, so im looking for people to chill with and get some PHO!
So i apologize in advance cuz i recorded these videos early in the morning and that’s why the video is shaky. But i need help getting better at dhalsim.
http://qik.com/video/7339238 (Dhalsim vs Guile)
Yeah i guess i got greedy a lot of times. I dont know what the strat is for this matchup. Do i just stay full screen and trade fireballs? Do i just turtle and sit on a life lead when i do get it? MMMmmm anyway this was online so i assume that is why the guy missed all the links. and thats why i missed b+mk yogaflame link. On that note, when do you guys teleport to do mixup? Every time i teleport, no matter who, if it isn’t following a meatyfireball i usually get jabbed out of the teleport…
http://qik.com/video/7338788 (Dhalsim vs Rufus)
I jump a lot in this video and I assume I should be jumping less, I’ve never challenged a Rufus till this game and I guess i was lucky cuz this guy never punished anything. What I want to know is what are the best times to punish? There is a point where the guy is like just doing divekick after divekick and I keep missing a throw etc. I shouldn’t have won this game at all and I’m pretty sure my opponent didn’t know the matchup as well because he never punished with pressure or serious combos. maybe the lag caused him to drop links idk. What should i do more of in this matchup? I was hesitant to anti air because of big combo damage but in hindisght maybe i should’ve been much more reactionary…
It was a 128 man bracket because we were more than 64 LOL but in truth it was like 75 peeps or something in singles. You’re giving me too much credit xD
PPN v. Daigo?

Things i know need work; Spacing, corner game, and i should try to use b.mp > fb more, specially on close jumpins.
Any more tips always appreciated
I’m no expert and your Sim is probably better than mine but here’s my 2 cents - nice combo execution (I want that haha) but i’d stick more with your zoning/lame approach in round 1. Your Sim is more offensive which is cool but too many FA and slides can be risky against better players. You also jump forward without really needing to. Trading damage with Rog is probably not a good idea in the long run. Good use of U1 to do dmg. I guess I like to lame out my wins more than you lol.
Check please! Advices!

Good to see Iyo’s still showing these noobs how it’s done. Anyone know if he’s been to any tournaments recently?

“WHO THE FUCK IS THIS!!!”
No offense, but have you considered switching to a rush-down character? Your teleports are incredibly unsafe, you teleport for no reason, and you rush down when you have the life lead. If any of your opponents had any idea what they were doing you would have been toast. Playing Dhalsim is about managing resources, a very important resource being the clock. If you’re rushing them down you’re handing the clock resource over to your opponent. Think of the clock as a meter. If they have less life than you, the less time on the clock the more they have to come at you and commit to risks. These are risks that you can capitalize on. This concept is the mainstay of Dhalsim play.
Man, in about 20 minutes of sitting down with Henry he dramatically improved my game.
