Some good Dhalsim videos here:

My first matches vs a very good Cody (his name suggests his ability

I need to test s.lk s.mk against rushers… the first hit will focused, hope the second will stop any jumpin.
Sometimes I forgot to use b.hk at all, damn.

Any comments are welcome.

My game is much better with Dhalsim now though since i’ve learned that insta-teleport trick to combo into hp - mk - flame. But any other criticism is welcome.

First, nice.
Now some random things. First vid first round, you are a little less than 1/2 screen away, you fireball on his wakeup, he ex zonks, PERFECT u2 setup. The range of that is not that great and most people expect him to throw out a poke with the fireball.
I want to say you’re jumping too much, at least in the first vid.

Nice vids Gore.

You pretty much summed up what you did wrong that i saw and that was anti-airing. Maybe jumping to much, but overall very solid sim man.

Very Nice Gore. I know this Violent Fuma he’s one of the best in Switzerland (I’d say second best). You played well. I’m sure you would have won if you knew the matchup a little better.

wait so what is the correct distance for that? or does U2 auto correct itself when the guy jumps over your fireball? that is some creative shenanigans.

I tried to keep distance as much I can, and to do that I can only use backdash, jump away or back IAT.
He’s very good at rush, he focused a lot of limbs, and seems to know how play aggressive vs Sim.
In 2nd and 3th match I remember how to antiair lol.

Of course I still don’t know the matchup. I discover I can punish his overhead or his tornado with in instant U2 on block.

My goal now is to understand how to prevent rushing char to get in, especially if they use focus, and which pokes you can use to zone still giving you time to antiair.

Thanks all you guys for comments and feeds!

You don’t need to teleport
You just fire… then you can slide mk after and wait opponent to jump: simply use U2 when he’s landing. Don’t work if he’s not in the corner and he’s jumping back, but surely he will hit by EX fire.

You can do something similar with U1 against turtling chars (Guile first!). If you know he’s going to neutral jumping your fire, simply do EX fire, use teleport KKK (not IAT) and do U1 while he’s jumping, and combo that with super

Super after ex fire = super impressive!

I do this so much that I rarely seem to have super at the same time as U2 heh. It used to be that Sim needed more frames after a yoga fire to antiair someone jumping over it, so you couldn’t throw fires as well from some places, and certainly not ex fire with its couple extra frames of recovery, since you needed more time to properly antiair. It was also a little dangerous against some characters because from some ranges Sim just couldn’t beat the opponent’s jump attack with his antiairs. And using ex meter meant you didn’t have one of Sim’s best antiairs in super.

Well, now you only need 3-4 frames for a much more damaging antiair that doesn’t lose to any jump-ins except those that move the opponent and that lets you keep ex meter.

I’ve tried to use u2 how it seemed to have been intended, ie as anti-fireball and in teleport mixups, and it just hasn’t been nearly as good as using it as an antiair and as a punisher for unsafe moves.

can u collect EX meter from teleport and Ultra ?

how this can be man

lol sorry…

of course if you EX fire you cannot super… so best option is to lp fire->kkk TP -> ultra1 -> super…
but sometimes if you’re in fireball war and opponent’s life is poor, you can use the EX one to force him to jump and only use ultra1 if it’s enough to win the match.

100%.
U2 is really nice to control space and his range is really good.
A lot of chars simply cannot jump while you got it.

way to go, some very smart playing. I actually wrote down on a post-it stuff you were doing so I can practice when I get home lol.

i’m a sliding addict also.

Finally!

So…here’s an epic match (at least to me) against Ryu. Not only does it showcase U2’s effectiveness against jump ins, but it’s the first and only time I’ve beat this guy. He was S-ranked in vanilla and has taken me 10 straight in the past. Very solid Ryu, pulls off 1 frame links online all day, and can rarely land a BnB on him since he’s always focusing. Many thanks to ed1371 (nippage) for recording and upping it!

that was awesome beepee

Thank you. It wasn’t nearly a perfect game by any standard, but other than the obvious flubs any feedback/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I’ve never seen this done before, very cool trick Arturo did with catastrophe:
