Dhalsim Video Thread

Good stuff… no clue why Cen switched over to Gief in Game 5 though. :blah:

Great Dhalsim.
The only mistake he did was the choice at 4:49 to use a normal bnb combo when Ryu was stunned: j.hp, b.mk xx flame lp. He should do j.hk, b.hp xx flame EX to won that match directly.

Another strange thing is that he never used back dash on wakeup.

Do you not mean j.b+hk, b+hp (or b+mp or b+mk) xx ex flame for the winning combo? I find doing a j+hk as a jump-in combo starter takes tough timing. Maybe I’m just confused and/or need to practice that combo more. You’re prob right, but I’m just a fan of his j.b+hk

^ I think that’s what he meant.

2nd round @1:45 - If you had used ultra instead of super not only would it have connected 100% but you could have juggle’d into your super and won the round

You keep jumping backwards and trying to hit with fp, he just keeps coming at you, blocking it every time.
Stay grounded. Control the zones with yoga fires, pokes, and AA’s. The only AA I ever saw was b.HK, which isn’t reliable vs Rog. I saw at least 20 opportunities for you to stuff him cleanly with j.mp.

You are giving him all the time in the world to do what he wants when you just keep jumping back like that letting him be as aggressive as he wants. By doing this your play becomes really predictable and he is able to close the gap on you forcing you to guess when he’s up close like that, attacking however he pleases.
But by staying grounded and controlling the zones he has to fight for every inch, this is where dhalsim dominates. Then he has to guess on how to get closer and you get to punish.

You Must Must Must break the habbit of always jumping back + fp whenever he gets within that range. You need to mix it up more with slides (mk slide, b.lk, b.mk xx l.flame) / b+mk / IAT backwards+HK etc.

You clearly have the fundamentals of dhalsim down well, just make the most of them and apply more pressure!

^^^ I haven’t gotten to watch the vid as youtube is blocked at owrk, but that’s an excellent analysis, and jumping back + fp is very common against Rogs. EX fireballs stop Rog’s EX dash punches dead in their tracks, also good to keep in mind. I suggest using IAT combos VERY sparingly against a rog. In fact — I rarely break’em out unless I stun a Rog mid to full screen.

some sim stuff towards the end

50 hit Chun Li combo…

absolutely breathtaking… even though it could never happen in a real match. Beautiful work.

dont now if anyone else is watching but 2 sims and ryan heart are in finals

that was me and xian (xien?) from singapore in winner’s finals. mr.singapore defeated me and then both of us lost to ryan.

xians sim was really good, and as many of you probably know ryan heart is beastly. ryans impression on xian was that he was the best dhalsim he ever met (meaning better than sabin).

I think all of my matches in the brackets were recorded by one guy or another (except maybe me vs SkatanMilla) and I’ll post them here when I find them/they get uploaded, right now I jus resently got home. one of them is me vs Zak Bennet which I somehow managed to win.

gooteks also was in this tournament but lost to ryan in loser brackets. I think a german ryu put him out of winners.

EDIT: I’ll also post any vids with xian I can find

Very good job, Randomness. I was looking forward to seing your Sim in action when I heard about the Dreamhack tourney.

And it was a Belgian Ryu who put Gooteks out of the winners braket.

Sabin is better than xian and sweden guy by far. He beat Ryan Hart convincingly in my hotel room at evo and he didnt get overwhelmed by random uppercuts.

Did Ryan Hart really say those Swedish Sims are better than Arturo’s? Until they beat Ryan 5-2 that shit isn’t even sensible to say. The only reason I could think of Ryan saying that is because he wants to look good for beating a falsely hyped Sim, when in reality is lesser in skill.

Furbz be in there, don’t sleep on him. Top 2 Sims in the world, hands down.

not sure if this has been posted yet, but this is a vid of Xian at Dreamhack (Top 32). For the record this was his first tournament outside Singapore so tourney nerves may have gotten the better of him. He’s a real solid player though, and we’re all proud of him esp since he’s only been maining Sim for like 3 months or so.

Not taking anything away from Ryan Hart btw.

I think Ryan was referring to the Dhalsim from Singapore, not Sweeden.

I agree that the Singapore champion had a solid Dhalsim, but by no means better than Arturo! He might have better execution though, but Arturo knows the match-ups better and plays better strategic IMO.

Also props to you Yagami:) Way to represent Scandinavia!

yes, ryan was refering to singapore, not me. I can’t compare since I haven’t met sabin.
thanks for the props ^^

these are the vids I found of me so far:

vs Ramzi (AK) in groups

vs Dawgtanian (EL), first opponent in winner’s brackets

vs SkatanMilla (CH), third opponent in winner’s 1
2
3

I’m eager to se me vs Zak

Nice job against Skatan Milla there Yagami.
Can’t wait for the Zak vid.

hello, you played against my brother very long time ago. Your Yoga and Seth is very nice, you should upload some sim and seth videos:tup:

Really nice mixup when Sim did yoga fire, mk slide mk slide (chun li jumps neutral), ULTRA! This should works against all chars!
