Dhalsim Video Thread

Gore,

This strategy has nothing to do with framerates, and everything to do with space. Check section 3 on my yoga fire thread… hopefully that helps… if it doesn’t, i’ll try and explain shit better.

This is a nice vid, solid defense and mind games…interesting mix up of fire speeds

Here’s a few videos from a tournament that I was in yesterday.

I teleported instead of using my ultra a few times. But, give me some feedback.

He’s a very aggressive and jump happy Balrog.
You probably run away too much, doing a lot of back jumps.

When he’s close and jump b.hk could trade, but you will not lost any space.
When he’s far, sometimes use Sabin tripguard (d.hp), sometimes use s.hk to punish his empty jumps. In this way you’ll keep him at distance. His jumps are very predictable.

I don’t remember if slides beat all his jump moves or not.

Thanks for looking at this. Could you tell me more about Sabin’s tripguard. I’m not sure what that means.

d.hp will hit every Rog’s jumping punch, but it can be blocked if Rog does an empty jump.

Also, d.mp has the same ability. Does less damage/has quicker recovery (obv).

Holy shit, is it just me or is this the holy grail of owning unsuspecting boxers?

Ok, after playing with this a while I think you very specifically meant “punch” is in the top three buttons on the stick. It seems jumping roundhouse (which makes boxer ‘punch’) can’t be tripguarded at all.

My take on this is that boxer’s jump ins from a distance are going to use FP and can be tripguarded, where close jump ins will use RH and need to be beef kneed, HP supered, or slid under.

Yes. Triguard works only from a distance, or you’ll be hit.
Your goal is to keep distance between you and him in this matchup.

when you say d.hp for trip guard, are you referring to the yoga mummy?

Nah, he means crouching fierce.

so how does this tri guard work? and how do i add it to my gameply, because I have never really heard of it, and I tried looking it up…

Basically, if a dude empty jumps (i.e., he jumps and doesnt attack in the air) he can block any low attacks that you throw at him. If he jumps and he does an attack, you can stick a low attack underneath his landing and he cannot block it.

So if Boxer jumps in from 3/4 with j.RH, you can c.Fierce underneath his landing and he’ll take damage. But if you try and do that on his empty jump, he’ll be able to block.

Arturo vs. Liquid G.

Basically Arturo makes Gief look free at this point.

Notice how he avoids using b.RH as AA. I have to admit I tend to abuse b.RH and more than once I have eaten empty jump -> Ultra as a result.

Gotta try st. RH instead.

the zangief player was total trash so you cant compare what the gief does from the gief players.

Jesus could those commentators be a liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiittle more repetitive?

Nice job on Arturo’s part, for sure.

Very true. So predictable.

That guy had one of the worst Abels I have ever seen; so many missed opportunities to use his ult. Did he seriously get top32 at evo?

And christ, he better have won, took him 3 different characters to finally beat you, and in the end he only won because you whiffed your IAT:(

Not sure if this was posted yet but some clutch dhalsim play.
