Dhalsim Video Thread

Am I seeing things or can you connect a standing LK after super? (19:50 on the video for example)

looks like it was part of the combo ;o, corner game perhaps?

Yup,. If you use jab-Super you can reset with s.Short.

hmm i guess its like doing a reset like after the ultra lands i usally reset them with an attack

It seemed like a combo, not a reset :open_mouth:

lol the end of the combo reset him

So after not playing of months I decided to pick up Dhalsim, finding him pretty tricky to learn.

My friend recorded these matches, you don’t have to watch cos the vid’s like 10 minutes long, but any tips are appreciated!

This is a match of me playing in a tournament in downtown Toronto this past weekend.
It was sponsored by Toshiba, and the winner got a brand new 42 inch Regza TV.

This is me playing in the loser’s semi’s against Arcade Legend.

cool vid, nice to have a audience =), i hear them shout dont trade a few time is it really bad for sim to trade? with his b.hk AA etc

Yo Traninho!

Seems like every time I’m at a TO tourney, you’re not there… and everytime you’re at one, I’m not there!

Aside from Gerjay, I’m pretty sure we’re the only two dudes in the city who play Sim for serious. We totally need to session sometime.

p.s., good shit on #5.

p.p.s., the jump-back -> super was straight up gdlk.

it normally beats blankas j.hk CLEAN.
but the ammount of trading that was happenning in this fight is exactly what blanka wants.

Sim keeps him at full screen and basically neutralizes anything the jungle goblin can do.

so he starts to do rolls and in doing so. hopes for some Hp hands or anything else sticking out to trade with.

sim takes more damage than blanka from doing so.

would have like to see A.L. win that one. but hot damn what a close match.

Nice match, the blanka could’ve ex ball at the end though and win the game xD

me vs rob stevens, in boston, guy got top 32 in evo so im tryin my best,
especially help on the part 2 rog would be nice, but it was a close match

well i guess i can add some info, against the sagat player you would jump or jump back Fierce and i would recommend staying stationary against a sagat player and wait for his mistakes, you should drill the high tiger shots and tower the lower ones. The sagat player was really random and misses his links like nothing, just BLOCK.
As for the balrog match-up you need to learn how to grab his rush punches, not really simple to do but if you get the hang of it; you will cause the balrog player to loose his mind.
Another thing i find many sim players do wrong against balrog is walk back or run, please do not. when you start backing up, it is the intentions of the rog to push on the offense. Next time you verse a rog try to walk forward and round-house, you will def mind fuck them.
You also sometimes did a yoga blast during you combos, didn’t know if it was by accident or you were trying to guess the jump in.

I also like that opponent says get the fuck out of here at the end of the video when he wins, man if i would face him i would straight shit in his mouth. Hope he comes to SB4.

I mean I love hype talk and all, but dude was mad serious getting all in your face like that. Him and I would have had problems. Actually come to think of it, I believe he posts on this site…

For real, Sim players should make a name for themselves by straight jackin’ anyone who comes with that nonsense.

yeap dude gets up after the win, curses and does not have the curiosity to give a handshake. LOL i just stay quite while i mind fuck my opponents.
He is lucky he didn’t face me< lucky

haha appreciatge the tips, actually the guy i played is a good friend of mine lolz so its all in good fun, we just get intense. Feeds the hunger to get better

adnan i actually saw you play on frame advantaGE too, goof stuff, probably going to the 2v2 in ctf in 2 weeks

Anyway, I guess that’s what homefield advantage sounds like. He lands a routine bnb and the crowd goes nuts. You land a killer combo while he’s rushing you down… crickets.

btw: love your use of ex fire in that rog match
