Dhalsim improvement thread

I’ve got my copy. Something was not correct on jumping moves:

Jump Light Punch 40 - 20
Jump Medium Punch 70 - 60
Jump Hard Punch 85- 70
Jump Light Kick 40 - 30
Jump Medium Kick 70 - 50
Jump Hard Kick 90 - 90
Jump, Back + Light Punch 20 - 20
Jump, Back + Medium Punch 80 - 40
Jump, Back + Hard Punch 100 - 70
Jump, Back + Light Kick 40 - 40
Jump, Back + Medium Kick 70 - 60
Jump, Back + Hard Kick 100 - 100

So, b.hp is the best jump move to start an IAT (best damage, best startup I guess).
Unfortunately j.hp is 85 not 100, but it’s buffed anyway.

Great news! Yoga Shangrila is GREAT to punish jumpin!
You can finally punish Akuma’s dive kick cause of his startup invincibility!
It does 300 to 450 damage (full charge).

how did you get a copy?

im so glad dhalsim got buffed up in ssf4, but does anyone feel like theres gonna be a lot more sim players? Im glad there aren’t too many now, the Sim mirror match is just terrible IMO.

No problem

No.

Unfortunately yes.

I think yoga drill is faster.

It seems the combos are the same.

It’s better, but don’t expect a command throw range

No

I haven’t try it yet, but I suppose yes.

I don’t know if some frames are changed, but all seems so similar to SF4.
Waiting for frame data

Play at my friend’s house.
Of course I’ve ordered another one for the 30th april.

I doubt very many people if any will be flocking to Dhalsim because of a buff to his flames and improved drills. He is still way too “different” for your average player. But I would welcome any new Dhalsim players because I disagree that the Sim mirror is terrible. In fact I think it’s one of the best in the game and it kinda bums me out that I rarely ever run into other Sims online. I mean seriously like maybe 1 out of 100 matches is against another Sim.

You can also do headbuttxxEX fireball, headbuttxxEXflame in the corner for some pretty unDhalsim like damage.

Dunno what people were saying about stand fierce but the range seems identical to me and he does more damage

The slight damage buffs to his normals really make a difference.

Stand Rounhouse seems WAAY faster to me, guess that’s why they nerfed the damage on it. I always found stand mk to have a shitty angle for getting people out of the air. Now Dhalsim should be able to zone from all ranges again.

Gentlemen, good news thus far, but any more details on Yoga Drills would be terrific. How faster, if at all, are they? Also, can you link cr.MKs for a two hit combo when Yoga Drills hit the opponent’s feet (a la ST / HDR)? Are they viable tools to create some offense (i.e., whiff into throws, tick throws, tight strings, etc.)? Any information is appreciated.

I appologize! Seems it was me who made the misstakes on my list… It was listed by a guy in a stream, so he must have given me some confusing numbers! Thank you for clearing it up everyone!

So Dhalsim didn’t have anything nerefed at all then?

How do you combo b.hp xx ex flame into b.hp xx ex flame?

It’s Headbutt into EX fireball then link headbutt into EX flame. Granted it’s a little impractical and I doubt it works from a teleport (you have to be point blank), but it just gives you an idea of the recovery on EX fire ball.

Oh yeah, and jump fierce only does 85, not 100. I think someone corrected that already.

All in all I’m guessing he’s much improved, but in relative terms I can’t say for sure how he stacks up the to the new guys. My time with the game has been strictly in training mode.

I did notice that if you try to link super off of flame sometimes you’ll only get 4 hits.

Sim’s SSF4 Trials, in case someone hasn’t watched them yet:

ty sir!

God the new trials are an INFINITE improvement upon Vanilla. No loading screens… and you can select whichever ones you want to play without having to start off with the freebies (1-15 or so).

I don’t see it happening. He’s far too technical and carries a stigma of being a terrible character to people that aren’t familiar with Street Fighter or just play it casually.

And I hate Sim mirrors as well. It’s like two old people fucking.

Even in ST when Sim was the best character, he was still really rare. He’s never gonna be popular.

x 2 I am sure

Bison looks like a bad match up for sim

It was 5-5 in Vanilla, though Psycho Punisher and the improved Psycho Crusher might turn the tables in Bison’s favor.

PP looks nasty. Bison can probably punish a wiffed st. fiece from 3/4 screen away on reaction now.

lol the matchup is the same, nothing really changed…except you have to throw less fireballs cause of fear of bison ultra 2

hyped in anticipation for super… WAR DHALSIM
