It’d be cool if he has the option to do a normal Yoga Catastrophe, in addition to the one with an arc.
I think a lot of people will try to do Critical art followed by V-Trigger if the opponent is close by since the CA will prevent them from jumping out (but not necessarily dashing out). Typical day -100 stuff. Question is, how fast will the recoverable damage accumulate?
I’m a Dhalsim noob, has he ever had an ground to air, 45 degree normal like the one showed in the trailer (shown at 1:13)? Seems like a powerful tool to have especially in a game like this.
I don’t think he’s going to be gaining v-gauge just by doing Yoga float. That would be like Chun-Li gaining v-gauge from whiffing her v-skill. I think we still have to figure out how Sim is gaining v-gauge from that v-skill. It might be a case where he needs to make contact with a normal after his v-skill or maybe he has a follow up after his v-skill that we’re not aware of.
He supposedly gets his fire powers from the Hindu deity Agni. Also he’s obviously modeled after Hindu ascetics. Also his SF2 stage is a temple of Ganesh or something. He’s pretty obviously Hindu.
I should’ve made a fake leak. I’m upset that I didn’t. I accurately predicted the release date, what Dhalsim’s redesign would look like, R Mika’s inclusion and I said that Laura screenshots would leak a week before it happens.
Yeah. People noticed it during the zangief build gameplay and it was in this beta. It’s about as much as a sucessful Ryu parry (lol) and on hit you get about as much as Nash’s succesful absorb/hit.
Expected. He still sucks, but I’ll be the half full glass guy:

[] He’s neither Sagat nor Akuma. That can’t be understated.
[] It confirms Matt Dahlgren’s lame attempt at saving face by hinting it may not be a SF2 character, and allows us to ignore whatever comes from his mouth.
[*] He’s in the starting roster which means the main incentive to up his tier placement (selling more DLC) doesn’t apply to him. Capcom can safely make him suck like in SF4 without risking anything. Although some people think he can’t be that weak without something like focus attacks, I suspect his pokes are going to have so much recovery and so little pushback Ryu’s sweep is going to look spammable in comparison.

As for the gameplay, looks plain old Sim save for the arc Yoga Fire - Catastrophe and the V-trigger. The slight floating is going to make him annoying and may be better no not bother antiairing him. The V-trigger looks cool, but feels like a waste in someone slow as molasses as him. If I would play him I wouldn’t want to get close to the opponent to tend the carpet. Maybe some teleport shenanigans help but, then again, I was hoping for his teleports to be gone but the video shows them as much as possible.
