He’s a familiar yet different character this time around. I really like his animations - you can tell the guys at Capcom have had fun revisiting the character.
He builds meter with an attack during his v skill (with a LK in that video). He needs to hit the opponent, a whiffed attack doesn’t build any meter.
Looks like his Standing Fierce is low profile.
He juggled with an ex Yoga Flame after an AA CC Back Fierce.
Ex Yoga Flame is a two hit projectile (at least)
Full screen CC Roundhouse > Fierce works
Did it look like Chun was getting no V-Gauge for just sitting in the V-Trigger flame carpet? It’s possible she didn’t gain any because she had no gray life to lose but hmm…
I love it. Those yoga fires seem like the perfect answer to create a zoning character who can work around all the anti zoning tech. Float, s.MK, 4HP and the yoga fires make me happy. Can’t wait to try him out.
God that st.HK looks annoying. Imagine getting a bar by the time the opponent even touches you!
Can he dive out of V-Skill? And what are his cancelable long-range normals?
Sim’s probably gonna be more ST style again where you would do more drills and actually have up close pressure. I think that’s been Art’s weakest point in SF4 is he didn’t have a good up close pressure game (debatable, because Sim didn’t have great up close pressure). So once it’s figured out which normals/tools to use in those mid-range engagements, he probably won’t struggle as bad as before.
Also I’m trying to keep in mind that there will be moments players will want to get away from Sim after blocking too much and generating a lot of gray health. So I think he might have a future, it’s just a matter of Sim players being ready to adapt to those situations where other players will want to keep away from them.
I know he looks cool and all, but judging from the videos @MarLonLonMilk posted, he looks kinda weak. Just like how Zangief feels weak. Anyone agree? For one thing, he doesn’t seem to have a way of dealing with fireballs now. And he also seems unable to do any damage on the ground. And with a lot of great anti-airs in this game, I doubt it’s wise to be jumping all the time.
I hate to say it guys… From all the footage I have seen, Sim seems to struggle in this game. But we will see if gamechanging stuff is found, because just from his move set he doesn’t look good at all. I have some hopes on what might work though.
