A setup I’ve been using a lot off a cr.mp anti-air is to cancel it into a jab fireball and immediately mp slide. It usually catches people, and then go into cr. fierce, flame.
Just discovered a meaty slide setup after mp flame (quick rise). I don’t know if this has been discovered or not but I haven’t seen it yet. After flame, forward dash and then mk slide, the timing is kinda tricky but it works.
Edit- I’ve found it’s a little easier to time if you swap the dash for a lk slide.
Did some more labbing tonight, if you do a meaty Gale setup on the opponent’s wakeup the majority of CAs in the game will whiff. More info in the video description https://youtu.be/G2vrNWKXCkQ
Double Gale combos? Yes they’re possible, just not off a tk gale, has to be a low iat Gale (jab and strong both work). It’s easiest in the corner, but can be done mid screen if you set up a fireball first. The fireball keeps the first Gale from pushing the opponent too far away for the second one to hit.
Crouching fierce can be hit meaty. Standard frame traps are standing forward or crouching fierce off stand jab and also, you can do 2 crouching fierce’s as a frame trap.

No, Gale doesn’t hit as a cross up but damn if it doesn’t look like one. Which might actually be better because your opponent may think you’re just whiffing to get on the other side and block incorrectly as a result.
Okay so I spent a shit ton of time labbing. I revisted my meaty Gale setups in the corner and now I’m incorporating MP and HP TK Gale. Cn anyone explain to me why drills are used so much in the higher ranks? I’m only silver and literally just picked up dhalsim today and going 50/50 on most games. Even just bet a super gold ( who dcd!!! )
When I seem to use drills they are always blocked and I’m punished for it. I like the idea of the offensive fchamp play but when I try stuff like drills to get in I get 40% of my life taken.
Am I missing something?
Is there any tech to allow you to safely get in or at least a setup that allows me to use X drill when X far…
