What debate? You said what you thought Alternate Guard was and you were wrong. Emil gave the correct definition. And yeah he played some people who didn’t seem to know about it. So what? How many people play KOF and don’t know what it is? A good amount. Hell I didn’t know what Alterante Guard was until Emil mentioned it. NO ONE else ever did. There’s a reason why you never said everyone was wrong when Alternate Guard was explained.
And if someone does a strategy over and over and it keeps working that usually means that their opponent doesn’t know how to beat it. As for it not being effective, someone will ask why no one does tickthrows in KOF and the answer is because of alternate guard. A technique that counters the universal tick throw strat that so many other 2D fighting games use. Dunno about you, but that seems to be effective even if it’s not a huge scale.
It got to one point where I just stopped reading his replies…like now, I dont read any of his replies because it’s foolish to try and convince someone like Emil. That’s why I didn’t bother to counter argue against him. But bottom line is the people in Juarez know about it, and it’s not as good as Emil says…Emil says the reason they lost is because they weren’t using it…it’s not THAT GOOD…bottom line as that video clearly says about it. Listen noob, in Asia for instance, you rarely ever see alternate guard create a damage opportunity…you know why? Because everyone knows of it’s existence and since it is SO good at stopping throws, it is accepted to never even attempt a throw after opponent blocks anything. It is extremely useful though, in the sense that it deters players from attempting throws like that. Just because you don’t see many instances where alternate guard leads to a damage opportunity in high level play, doesn’t mean that it isn’t useful…on the contrary.
Contrast this to Mexico or other latino countries, where not many players know about it and the ones that do, don’t know how to fully use it. The existence of alternate guard does not deter those players from using it because hardly anyone actually applies it…so, what you have is many more grapplers in those latino countries being used, and many more tick throw setups being used and players NOT avoiding them(aside from guessing) - contrast that to asian players where everyone there knows about it and it is accepted that tick throws are so risky that no one dare attempt them.
The existence (and respect) of a alternate guard results in an evolved metagame in Asia, it’s really quite simple to understand.
It’s not just “more precise”, your definition was completely wrong. How can you use it from time to time, if you totally didn’t know when it was activatable?

I mean… you might now say: just look at my page on 2df… ok… but most (not everybody) of the latinos you played had from 2 to 5 pages… that doesnt mean HIGH LEVEL PLAY, most of the time who got only those amount of pages actually isnt that good…as i said pages (1 page,5 pages,20+ pages,and so on) on 2df count nothing…
moreover on 2df or ggpo u cant find (or find how many? i never encountered any players from these countries) vietnamese players, macao players, thai players, mongolian players, laos player,etc… u CANNOT say that all asian players knows about it or are glk… if u ve encountered players from those countries pls give me a link
