I knew it wouldn’t be long til Quinn did typical dumb Quinn shit. He’s such a horribly written character I’m honestly expecting him to catch Dex in the end and redeem himself for sucking for sucking since season 3. This increased focus he’s getting has to be for a reason
The “disagree” I gave you wasn’t because I actually disagreed with what you said, it’s just that the smiley has the same facial expression I had when you told me to imagine that nightmare.
Catch what? He knows what Dex is about for the most part. But since Dex saved his ass from losing his badge he doesn’t want to dig any deeper or raise any flags.
And yeah…he was due for some stupid shit. But at least this season it can be blamed for all the shit happening around him. Deb’s a mess and keeps running to him, Batista keeps riding him about being Sergeant, and Jamie got those green eyes. He’s actually handling the shit better than expected all considering.
Compare that to last season…fucking Quinn…

Okay, if it wasn’t obvious before, the writers of Dexter really has a low opinion of its viewers because they just went all out in Episode 5 to make nearly every plot point and overview of the episode unrepentently obvious.
Pretty boring episode IMO. Next week looks semi interesting.

I’m surprised that they didn’t go with Dr.Vogel being the serial killer. I guess they’re trying really hard for the final season.
Trust me, all he thinks is that Dex finds the rich kid suspicious and is trying to find answers like he is, nothing more.

Besides where I already mentioned how they wanted to beat you over the head with every plot point, Deb recovered WAY too quickly from Rock Bottom. She John Cena’d it.
And NO ONE CARES about who’s going to be the next Sergeant. At all. I mean, don’t get me wrong, at least while doing this Quinn is being 200% more tolerable than usual but still.
At this point the only thing we care about is how Hannah is going to get involved. Cassie is likely her way into the season.
So wait, Vogel + Deb + Dex is all hunkey-dorey now? We went from 1 episode ago everyone hating each other to being family watching Dex roll a body into the ocean? Does Dex not care about the book she was writing anymore?
Also holy shit no one cares about who becomes Sergeant.
Also, something I forgot to mention last week.
It seems Vogel did know about Harrison…and does not care.
What I don’t get is why she had an initial problem with Dexter’s relationship with Deb yet didn’t bat a single eyelash of him having a damn SON!

Except Vogel acknowledged that her true Rock Bottom moment was trying to Murder/Suicide Dex. Which means she really recovered in the span of a couple of days.
I feel like Dexter has had a few subplots plucked straight out of the police procedural handbook in the same vein as this current who gets to be SGT subplot, and they always seem really stupid and trivial compared to the main action.
I wouldn’t mind the chase for Sergeant too much if…you know, this weren’t the last season. Since it is, I really couldn’t give a damn.
Yeah, this is feeling like any other season of Dexter moreso than a true finale. I’m getting no sense of closure so far.
Yates isn’t the brain surgeon, before Voguel was abducted at her place, she turned on her sound system and played the same music that could be heard playing when the brain surgeon was forcing the hunter to kill that dude.
Vogel probably has hella pawns up her sleeve and any of them could be the real Brain Surgeon.
I’m interested in this new kid that was introduced. Preview suggested Vogel knows about him. If that’s the case, it opens the door to Dexter being replaced.
Don’t mention the previews please. Those things completely kill any tension going from episode to episode. It makes an already meh season even worse.
