Seriously…like…why was that storyline even there? No one likes Quinn to want more of him, not even Quinn. Hell, that should’ve been the topic title this season. No one likes Quinn, Not even Quinn.
I’m sad to say that the Ukrainian arc was completely useless. However Isaak PWNS. He should have played a part in the finale.
favor for a favor wouldve been nice… like laguerta catching one from issak in return for dexter helping him with the ‘brotherhood [S]of evil mutants[/S] ukrainian mob’ thus giving him an excuse cause him an deb coulda been at the party… i still think that will raise eyebrows.
-
so we are left with the ‘folder and disc of info’ on laguertas desk along with “court ordered” request that she had pending…
-
they [dex n laguerta] just had a heavy moment so no one will be suspect of laguerta an dex missing from a party?
-
laguerta still on duty on new years eve?
-
Super loyal Baby-Sat still hasn’t even questioned her ex missing… she already flirtin n ready to get down to it… Still she loyal as all get out… i dont think ive seen her own place yet
-
Wait… if super loyal Baby-Sat is at party gettin blitz…who watches harrison? Poor kid…
-
Soooooo ballistics will match the gun to debs right??? right?
-
Laguerta was ready for combat an partyin wit that outfit… she gets out her ride… doesnt notice DEXTERS truck an proceed forward. Common sense wouldve said call that backup squad (hell i think someone said she should have done it IN ROUTE…
-[S] Poison Ivy[/S] hannah will definitely be gettin in dexters ass next season for that setup…
They didn’t show what Dexter did with it…I would have assumed he threw it all away.
Again I wish they showed what they did to clean this up, because now they can make up any random solution after the fact. Maybe Dexter removed the bullet and reshot her in the same hole with the other gun, who knows. I’m not sure if Dexter even went through with his original plan of making them look like they killed each other, since Deb somewhat screwed things up. Maybe he just ended up dumping all the bodies.
Honestly they probably needed the season break to try to come up with a “how the fuck do we try and get out of this now” solution. Shit is so bad.
That’s what happens with a show like this. A lot of ass pulling to explain how the fuck a serial killer like Dex can actually function for as long as he does without truly getting caught.
Dexter’s plan of shooting through Hector’s knife wound was ridiculous. I guess Miami PD morgue is inept as well and wouldn’t detect post mortem wounds. o_O If the writers thought that would fly, then Deb’s fuck up wouldn’t matter much either. Eh whatever…
I still liked this season overall. Writing has gotten worse, but I’m overlooking it in light of the much needed new take on the villain and love interest. And Dex being chased by Laguerta was a nice throwback to the first two seasons. Quinn’s subplot was boring as usual, but at least there were titties.
If you shoot a gun at that small knife wound, how would you even tell I knife was there?
No idea, but something tells me if it were a random murder scene, Dexter would figure it out lol
Miami Metro IS inept. That’s the whole point. Now, that’s not to say they don’t have potential or don’t have their moments. Masuka actually is a damn good forensic investigator but having Dex in your department makes it harder on him of course. Batista was a good detective that is easily dismayed. Deb breaking down all of Dex’s lies shows how good she can be. The only one (named at least) that is truly crappy is of course, Asshole Quinn. But in the end, it’s just a lot of ineptitude breaking down the department at inopportune times. They REALLY miss Mike Anderson.
I wish it didn’t seem like a forgone conclusion that things are coming to an end for Dex.
I’m not too hot on Deb ending up killing LG either since it puts her ethically on the same level as Dex. As Dex got wilder at least there was the drama that you didn’t want Dex to get caught for Deb’s sake but now she kind of deserves getting killed herself which sucks. Dex is just some black hole and there’s no one to root for on this show anymore. I have a feeling the last season will just be 70% Dex killing the scumbag of the week and the rest being the inevitable march to his demise (and whatever stupid subplot they think of for Batistia/Quinn/Masuka) which sounds kind of boring.
Dexter’s kid kills the babysitter. IF I’M RIGHT YOU MUST CALL ME SWAGSTRADAMUS
Harry’s code :
- send the most wanted man in Miami a video. (season 6)
- calling your accomplice-sister (on your cellphone) and saying “they bought it!” while being investigated on multiple murders is perfectly safe. (season 7)
I can’t wait for the third rule next season.
Btw I’ve heard of shooting through knife wounds or other gunshot wounds to clear the evidence of the initial one. I’m pretty sure NCIS had an episode of that where Franks did it, and they couldn’t figure that out (though they did realize something was a bit off). Maybe it’s legit.
I think I’ve seen the ‘shooting a knife wound’ done on several shows. I wouldn’t have given it a second thought until it seemed like Hector’s body was lying there while Laguerta rolled up and while Dex was trying to set up the scene. Couldn’t help but think about how they can always detect the peri-mortem vs post-mortem on other shows. But yeah, it’s Miami PD, so whatever. Dex just needs to go to the morgue, lure the doctor out with donuts, and fuck with the evidence as usual.
The security guard at my bank looks 100% like Doakes. I think he’s getting really tired of me walking in and saying “SURPRISE MOTHER FUCKER!!!”
One of these days he’s gonna show up behind you with a gun to your head and say “SURPRISE MOTHERFUCKER!”
I miss Doakes…
Logical inconsistencies aside, and there were quite a bit if them (LaGuerta not calling even her close and possibly only friend Batista to tell him where she was going) I did enjoy Dex’s setup on LaGuerta immensely. It was reminiscent of his Season 1 self who planned perfectly.
Past (present) Doakes seemed to have chubbed up some, but it was so nice seeing his pissed off self putting the dots together on Dex. Morgan kind of made it too easy though lol.
As for the finale, things seemed pretty resolved for now, but there are 3 major loose ends:
-The signed court order.
-Batista, Matthews and possibly Masuka filling in the puzzle pieces.
-Deb’s sanity making her a loose cannon.
Hannah isn’t a loose end, she’s just supposed to appear when everything next season has gone to shit and she becomes Dex’s deus ex machina/ savior.
All in all, I enjoyed the finale aka “LaGuerta getting offed.”

nobody will care about that technically. Nobody will be investigating.
Masuka won’t care, he’s too busy trying to be a pimp. Matthews probably doesn’t care either. Batista could be a worry though.
I’ll be honest, her being the shooter really was unexpected. That’s a HUGE leap of faith, although she does realize what a tool LaGuerta is, and how useful her brother is to the safety of many many others, and that he doesn’t really deserve to be locked away for doing what her father taught him.
I am up in the air about her. She could be helpful, or she could be a complete bitch hellbent on revenge after what he did to her.
Someone’s going to have to go through Laguerta’s house to clean and box up her stuff. Batista is the most likely candidate and unless Dex snatched up the Court Order from there (unlikely since he didn’t want Laguerta having any more ammo on him by noticing a missing Court Order), he’ll see it and follow up.
