The therapist is so damn sexy. (too bad she’s probably going to die)
Gellar being dead is likely not going to be the biggest twist, if you can call it that, this season as there are at least three more episodes left. Still, the hints were well tailored. I think the biggest bomb is Louis who obviously has more shit going on than meets the eye. Also, Quinn is about to be framed by LaGuerta to clean up that dead hooker mess. Then there is Deb who will probably find out Dexter’s secret soon enough.
If Dexter had “stayed in x-factor” it would have worn out it’s welcome.
The chaining himself up thing doesn’t make sense to me but as for killing his sister…obviously Travis suffers from a multiple personality disorder. His other personality is probably Geller himself. When he killed his sister, he was probably acting as Geller. He also probably has no recollection of what he’s been doing as Geller…like when he woke up from the hotel room (right before he saw the blood on the walls), he seemed very disoriented…like he didn’t remember what he’s been doing this whole time.
At first I thought Louis was behind the writings on the walls (that he had gotten the location of the hotel from the IP of the blog posts) but Travis having a second personality that is Geller himself, makes a lot more sense.
I like Quinns relationship with Batista this season. The game developer having the butcher’s prosthetic limb and the meeting Laguerta had towards the end were pretty interesting.
Oh yeah, that was fucking stupid. THERE’S GELLAR. YOU TAKE THE STAIRS, I’LL TAKE THE ELEVATOR!
This show has gotten really stale. I loved the John Lithgow episodes, and the Ice Truck Killer episodes were cool because I was just getting into the show, but now its just silly in comparison.
Did you guys ever see the Imagination Land Trilogy on South Park? These episodes remind me of when the feds bring in M Night Shyamalan, and he’s throwing out all these quick-spoken, hair-brained twists left and right.
“Alright, so there’s a guy, working for another guy but it turns out its the same guy. Also Dexter’s brother who is dead comes back, but he’s not really back, because he’s dead”
And we’re just sitting here saying “That’s not a plot, that’s a twist”
So basically what pisses me off about this season is that they warped the meaning and purpose of the “dark passenger” to fit their predictable and corny plot twist, Dexter seeing Gellar, they gave deb way too much screen time (they need to get rid of the actress on some Young and The Restless “the role of Deb will now be played by…” shit), Quinn drama, and all the other unnecessary characters and plotlines.
Season 5 was kind of weird because it just kind of try to brush season 4 under the rug as quick as possible and get on to a new story but at least that story was pretty interesting and realistic and the show maintained its dark and suspenseful feel. This season the show seems to have just gone goofy.
Oh. So apparently, this season DOES suck as much as I’ve heard. You guys going to stick around for this “endgame” they’re talking about (I linked to it earlier)?
I’ve gone this far already, might as well continue watching for two more years. INB4 it was all a dream and Dexter has been in a mental institution since his mother was killed.
I had Louis on the suspects list since he was introduced. Even before he was dating Angel’s sister I had him pegged for some kind of evil mischief at the last quarter of the season. And yeah they’re definitely building to Deb finding out, which was inevitable, and she will keep the secret.
I liked the twist in the last episode. Didn’t see it coming. Sure it’s been done already with Sixth Sense and all but still a surprise.
The Trinity season is still the best IMHO but this is at least shaping up to be better than last year’s season. No one’s messing with John Lithgow but at least Collin Hanks is coming close where Julia Stiles and motiviational killer what’s his face were not even in the ballpark.
Wost season was Oscar Prado and Jimmy Smits’ fake ass accent. As a Latino myself that just hurt my ears every time he opened his mouth.
The Trinity season was legendary, but I know I will be in the minority for saying this, but Season 2 was still the best IMO. Motherfuckin Doakes was the best “villian” or rather antagonist and he really had Dexter on the ropes. That season was just perfect in my eyes, and solidified me as a fan.
The scene at the school as well as the kidnapped girl saying she heard 2 people were good attempts at hiding the twist, but writers should have done things like this earlier to throw us off better. I think we were already sensing the twist for so long that no matter what they did in the last few episodes we’d still have our suspicions.
I really enjoyed that season as well, they just fucked up on the ending. Dexter went to Paris (never been before) was able to dispose of the body (in a foreign country) within a very rushed final 5 minutes of the episode.
Wow, the reason everyone loves that movie is because of how well the twist was executed. Shocked that it’s the reason you dislike it.
But with that said, I believe Dexter did not perform the “twist” very well at all. I seen it coming 4-5 episodes ago, actually made a bet with someone that Gellar is not real. I’m not even sure you can call it a twist since it was so obvious… How did you not see it coming???
It makes me wonder what the writers were going for. If they were really trying to hide the twist they did a poor job of doing it, and gave way too many indications of it. If they were not trying to hide the twist, I don’t think they played off the fact that people seen it coming very well - that just made Dexter look like a fool for not seeing it coming too.
Aside from that, I’m actually enjoying the season, not as much as seasons 4-5 though. Was not executed as well, but has some interesting ideas and setups. I hope something big happens in these last few ep’s, because if not this seems more like a “filler” season with the purpose to build the plot for the next season. Debra is in a perfect position to lead to an amazing storyline if she finds out about Dexters secret since she is lieutenant now, especially since they have been dabbling with the fact that he keeps secrets from her so much (and her almost discovering him last season and admiring the “vigilantes”) on top of the fact of her specifically saying how Travis’s sister “knew something but was trying to defend him like a good sister is supposed to”. The intern is in a perfect position to go in many directions for the storyline, and considering his relationship with Batista’s sister that could tie Batista in to the storyline perfectly as well. I don’t know what the hell they are doing with Quinn this season but lets not forget he’s the only one still alive who knows about Dexters secret (aside from Lumen). And, of course, Dexter may finally come to the realization that he’s not a “bad guy” for killing people, and having others who know about his secret that he can communicate with would open the doors for many new interesting storylines, because lets face it, the most interesting segments of seasons 2-5 had to do with the people who knew about his secret, but sadly they were all temporary characters.
