Just saw the 1st ep because some of my dumbass friends have been trying to spoil it.
Anyway, Dexter (the show) is BETTER THAN EVER! Goddamn great villain(s) and it’s darkly comic once again (not just because of Vince). I can’t wait for the premiere so I can watch it again. Gonna have a viewing party.
Dexter is easily my favorite show these days by a long-shot. So I’m beyond hyped for this season.
And the premiere was excellent, IMO. The only thing I didn’t like was when the jock-douchebag (I forgot his name) who Dexter was planning to kill the whole episode suddenly got all religious. I get that they were trying to emphasize the theological themes of this season, but it seemed kind of contrived. Still, an amazing premiere. I’m just so glad Dexter is back on tv. I need this show in my life. XD

it worked well because they were making a contrast with somebody who only had a superficial relationship with religion and a conviction that is only for show compared to somebody who is on a mission like this season’s villain team.
Great episode last night, I was wish Deb would send Laguerta flying across the room with a kick to the chest.

Piss and Moan INITIATE
1.Too many new characters and too much non-dexter drama. The show is titled “Dexter” not “Miami Metro”. I dont give a fuck about Angel, Laguerta, OR Quinn and Deb. Get Laguerta and Quinn the fuck outta here already. Now you got Angels sister, This new Cop, Mos Def, Travis, Gellar, and the Intern. THATS SIX NEW PPL! At least 5 gotta die IMO.
2.I dont like how warm and fuzzy Ghost of Harry has been getting. Its totally contrary to his role in the past. Also, is he the fucking ghost of harry? dexters flashbacks? or dexters imagined perception of what harry might have said were he around? This needs to be clarified.
5.When the fuck is Quinn going to die? Hes a shitty character played by a shitty actor.
Im barely hanging on with this season so far. If at the end of the season i decide it was shit its a wrap for me. It doesn’t seem like were heading toward a conclusion of the overall story arch because the ratings are so good that they want to keep it going for as long as possible. I dont want to keep watching dexter if its just going to be filler seasons with a new Serial Killer each season and a little “maybe theyre on to him” false tension. That shit is gonna get tacky like some CSI Miami type shit.

First episode was awesome… the last few have been good. I guess they’re doing more with everybody else but I don’t give a shit. I feel like this season is going to be good but it feels like it’s lacking focus.
HOWEVER
The ending of episode three and what it could lead into for episode 4 looks very promising.

This season is awesome. How the fuck can people like the Miguel Prado season and the Julia Stiles season over the current one?
I don’t mind the religious theme, at least they have a theme this season. No more Laguerta or at least she’s on a lot less now so that’s good, no more Deb’s relationships for a while now that she’s Lt, that’s more the focus now so that’s good. More Masuka this season so that’s good. New cute intern who is probably a villain, at least that’s something. Quinn was always boring, now the character himself is bored (that scene with him fucking that girl and looking bored was hilarious though), so at least he’s being true to himself rather than the writers trying to make something about him interesting. Angel is demoted to detective status again so we see him less and just in a detective capacity. Tom Hanks’ son and Admiral Adama are shaping up to be great villains. That four horsemen scene was bad ass. Although I get the feeling that Edward James Olmos is…
…imaginary like Dexter’s Dad and only Colin Hanks can see him.

Interesting, but what about the burning his arms for hanks sons’ sins, cuz that’d be a hallucination vs dex’s dad being just there for moral/conscious support aware that he’s not real and can go against harry times a la season 3.
Theres not a crazy amount of serial killers, think about it: millions of people in florida, alot of murders, dexter’s only killed a 100 maybe close to 200 or so. but theyre not all typical highprofile genius killers, he kills people with the intent to kill again. only super villians, were the skinner ice truck killer arthur mitchell, and a few randoms that were never really pursued. but bay harbor was dex and miguel was a product of dex.
Only real gripe i have was the bs part in 1st ep. drugging both paramedics at once, was pretty ridiculous. And so much cell phone usage, using his phone for the toothfairy killer and using the bitch who gave head’s phone to text the jock dude. that’s not dexterlike at all.
Because this has the burden of following the elite 3seasons and 2fillers it’s pretty much doomed to be fucked cuz the fillers had enough substance with rita aftermath and miguel+skinner was still badass for dex revealing himself to someone besides crazy british whore. theres not much to follow up on, no one cares about lumen, harrison cant be of any important problems cuz he’s too young, Dex has no real supervillian match: Doakes Arthur Rudy were only dudes that could really fuck with dex, hence those 3 being the best seasons.The writers have been okay so hopefully they can pull some shit out of their ass or just plan to lead into the next season with something epic to end this run the right way.
off note: i wanna see next season fast forward with harrison as young dex’s age and dex finding out about a ditch with bones or some wicked dark passenger shit, that’d be a mind fuck i’d enjoy especially if harrison is really detached and a real sociopath. and run-on sentences ftw. sleepy though so yea thats my excuse.
