I love how you ignored the part where Tameem Antoniades said he wanted to keep what fans loved about dmc game play and deepen it.
But fans loved O.Dante. 
i didnt ignore as much as thats just dev default blah blah. you always want to keep whats good and “deepen” it. have we all not heard that before. lol. am i suppose to be impressed that a dev gave me a default line. i find it slightly disturbing that i dont think they really know what fans loved, otherwise you would think they would have more specifics. its shocking they have no gameplay yet, and wont for months
Capcom showing Ninja Theory how the 3d hack n slash genre should really be. Making people even more pissed that capcom wouldn’t stop being lazy and just continue the damn series themselves.
in this interview the director I think it is almost let it slip that they want to change the feel of the game. I also noticed how his clothing and hair are designed in a similar style as him. I don’t think the proper term is modernizing.
@orochizoolander I kinda agree but still I hate the redesign and the fact that they think making Dante a smoker and mental is “cool” also puts me off a bit. that and I hate Ninja Theory’s previous gamesHeavenly Sword was a huge letdown but still I’ll give it benefit of the doubt until I see more afterall I defend Metroid Other M from haters all the time so it’d be hypocritical of me to bash this game just because I don’t like it so I’ll do what I did when Capcom redesigned Jill Valentine in Resident Evil 5 and I didn’t like it ignore it and play the previous games with her in it.Not worth getting bent outta shape over

you know. i didnt think much of it before. i just sat back and twiddled my thumbs, but for real, story wise, why reboot it just to tell details of his story that dont really fucking matter. lol. i was fine excepting dantes hair is white because we made it that way nigga, or if you reboot it, and your like, dante’s hair is black now nigga. okay, i dont care. i think the story should have been nice and simple like the anime and shit. yo, here are some cases, do them, i dont feel like, do it now, okay, and then plot twist, all that ends up being some big end game conspiracy and now you gotta save the day. bam. plots done. lets work on gameplay and weapons. lol

I actually would’ve love to have seen Vergil’s origins, why he’s such an asshole, and what started his beef with Dante. Bam. That could’ve been its own DMC game. Why a reboot, Capcom? Why? :sad:

They already explained most of that. Plus a game going that far back would mean no DT.
If they were going to do another prequel, doing one about Sparda would’ve been cool.
Random developer team member mentioning something =/= canon. Besides, you wouldn’t have to include that part of the story to set up for DMC4.
A game going that far back could still have a DT, since he, in theory, already had one before DMC3’s timeline.
A prequel about Sparda would be cool too.
Point being: there’s a lot of shit they could still work with in regards to Dante, Vergil, and Sparda… but they just chose to do a reboot “DMC: ORGINS” kind of schtick.

You’re ignoring that many of the more rational people have already said to wait for gameplay before making a judgement call… and turning “We don’t have very much faith in Ninja Theory because they’ve only made shitty games up until now, and we don’t much care for a radical redesign of the character that holds little of what made him originally appealing intact” into “OMG IT’S DIFFERENT SO IT’S SCARY” is a logical fallacy, poor discussion technique… and damn funny to resort to after only a few posts prior throwing a fit over people being unable to hold civil discourse.
I don’t get this obsession with origin stories. Do we really need them? Are Star Wars fans really better off for having seen Darth Vader’s origin story? Although to be honest, plot has never really been DMC’s strong point, pretty much all of them so far have been “Something bad is happening, go save the world”
Forget design/visual for now, just talk about game play, Enslaved supposed to be Ninja Theory’s current best production right? Yet the demo of it the character’s control feels pretty sluggish. If new DMC is gonna play like that then its gonna be a train wreck.
Even if they’ve all been the same, there was still certain things that was appealing. With DMC 3, you got some backstory a little of Vergil and Dante’s early fights and Dante’s first Devil Trigger. DMC 4 you got the mysterious Nero who has a connection to the Sparda bloodline and we find out some things about Sparda’s influence.
To me after those games, they could’ve easily given us a sequel that brought back Nero and Dante and threw in some side missions ala Seperate Ways that lets you play as Lady, Trish, and the chick from DMC2.
