Yeah, I think the biggest issue of what Ant thinks is “cool” was like thirty to fourty years ago (70s and 80s punk) and he still thinks it’s cool these days. Maybe in the UK looking like you’re stuck in the 80s is cool, but I can’t remember the last time I saw someone my age look like an 80s punk band reject walking around in every day life. I think beyond this thread reinforces the fact that people (especially gamers) by and large hate change, so I’d like to remind you all many if not most of the best works running the gamut from Amadeus to Kubrick faced polarized reactions upon initial release and have in time been publicly vindicated. Hopefully that will be the case here.
I’m not saying I personally think it will be great or terrible but just that I’m not going to judge either way until I see some game play instead of a cut scene (which was shot and edited very well and had me interested to know who imprisoned dante and why) FYI I hate the new look too. To a much lower extent this is the same reaction the st community had when hdr came out, it would be interesting if this game divided the dmc fans.
I liked HS but even those that didn’t must admit NT does have a knack for character development so picking them really does make sense for a character oriented franchise. Also Enslaved didn’t even come out so please don’t judge this developer on a game that isn’t even released, there’s some big hollywood names attached to that game and it’s shaping up to be a big deal game play and story wise I hope that game succeeds and makes dmc haters reconsider NT’s abilities. If capcom thinks they can do it then I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt.
