Devil May Cry!

Debatable on one and not really debatable on the other.

Famitsu gave DmC 34/40.
Clearly it’s going to be an amazing game.

No. I’m perty sure RE6 sucked.

Ummm no it didn’t suck. Thats why i say its debatable. But I’m pretty sure you’re one of the abundance of people who are still pissing and moaning about the Old RE being abandoned.

…oh my god.

I’m going to assume you meant his character, and that you’re not actually trying to dispute his existence in DMC1.

So Dante faught demons and travelled to Mallet Island for shits and giggles? Are you telling us that he saved Trish for the chance of having some “overtime” when they escape?

RE6 is a bad game along with being a bad RE game. That’s why people hate it, it’s two bad games simultaneously.

No. People hated it because of the direction that the series took. At the same time, it still made for a fun and good game.

Fun? At points maybe. Good? Even I wouldn’t use the word Good for RE6. The only reason that’s it’s not fodder for Anarchy Reigns right now is because of the POSSIBILITY of Claire DLC and even then I’m tempted to change my mind tomorrow on that.

It may not be the pinnacle of excellence but its still a good game.

Average at best honestly. And I don’t like to trash other games, but it just doesn’t go above that. Again, not as bad as others like to say, but the only reason it’s even worth discussion is because it’s an RE game. If it were anything else it would be forgotten in a month. Not so bad as to continue to trash it but not good enough to continue talking about it either.

This isn’t 2005, don’t make excuses for your bad taste.

No shit it ain’t 2005 and yet that has STILL been the focal point of backlash on RE6. You’d be an idiot to not think that.

I’m going to claim ownership of this, since it’s what I used to get out of bounds in my glitchy adventures. Gotta spam that L2+X~[ ].
Shit’s ridiculous.

The backlash is about the game being absolutely dumb. If anything people just want another RE4.

I don’t get where people keep inventing these “consensus” opinions from, like RE fans are afraid of change and DMC was too stale to move on. Liking a bad game doesn’t make you special, it just means you like bad games.

Well yea, it’s not really RE anymore. Pretty easy to understand why this bothers people, but even looking at RE6 as not an RE game there’s a lot of problems, one instantly springing to mind are the MULTIPLE sections of the game that are pretty much impossible to do the first time through without dieing due to the suddenness of them, or bad direction, or the controls going wonk ass shit on you due to the tight quarters or something.

Or that you like some games despite their badness. I got some games in my collection I’d say are bad but I still like them cuz I have fun playing them despite those flaws.

I think some of the mechanics in RE6 were good, great even but too bad it wasn’t in a better game. I loved the melee and the movement. Compared to other TPS games, they give you a lot of evasion options to move around and doing stuff like slide > plant c4 > trigger it is really fun. The melee and stamina bar is a great idea and works pretty well. I also thought crossing paths with other players in the campaign was a neat concept and wish there were more intersect points. Mercs is great too.

But for all those fun mechanics, the game is poorly designed in many ways. Like who the fuck thought chapter 2 of Jake would be fun if you couldn’t see shit while snipers can peg you from a mile away? Also the slopes were slippery so if you lose a bar of health to gunfire you fall down, then you slip down the whole fucking hill. Normally in survival horror you run to conserve ammo or life, but you run during the whole chapter because it was a headache to deal with the bullshit. Also some situations the came put you in probably means you die on your first encounter with it. One very dumb example is Chris when you are on the bridge in Europe and part of it blows up. The controls change on you to climb up the bridge and shit is falling toward you. Too bad that you could have been running right behind the barrel that falls toward you so you instantly die and there is no way to know about that the first time you play. Other situations also include the camera changing it’s viewpoint on you to get a more cinematic angle, which screws with you if you needed to do something like run away from certain death. The fact that enemies can move while you are viewing a cutscene, so they could get in position and mess you up right after it (it’s also unskippable and also mostly stuff like looking at a vent or door that opened up). It’s like they didn’t play their own game because you could easily see what is bullshit design.

If anything, being an RE game excuses it from criticisms about having an awful plot and characters.

The biggest problem people have with RE6 is that how did such a mediocre game come out when Revelations came out the same year?

I think it being a game excuses it from that, but it being RE it certainly gets off extra easy in that department.

I’d rather play DmC than Re6. rimshots fired

Okay, let’s not get too crazy here.
