Devil May Cry!

RE6 is probably the least fun I had with a game all 2012.

We like the cheesiness RE provides. RE6 is a good game

But Saitsu…

THIS PARTY’S GETTING CRAZY!!! Let’s rock!

Well looks like Game Informer gave DmC a 9/10, and Famitsu gave it 34/40. Note that Game Informer also gave RE6 a 8.75 and Famitsu gave RE6 a 39/40… What is up with reviewers these days…

So famitsu pretty much gives it an 8, which i’m not really tripping off BUT GI gives it a 9??? Thats a bit dumb.
I wish there was a way to read what Famitsu thought of it for them to give it a 34/40.

Oh GI gives just about everything high scores. I haven’t seen something below a 6 from them in ages.

Game informer is horribly written. They gave Catherine, the Green Lantern movie game, and the Captain America movie game all 8’s. Lets be real, Catherine is a supremely better overall game than those two games and deserved a better score and the other 2 shoud’ve been lower.

Yea Catherine was great.

basically the story was vauge and dumb and we had no clarification on who we were and why we were untill 3

Publishers actually pay the developers more if they reach certain targets and it’s become very well known in recent years. So reviewers feel obligated to give good scores as it actually affects people’s livelihood.

It’s completely wrong but it’s a huge issue right now.

ooh i remember that, that one was quite bad. but its fine now i suppose, i have Pokemon on the brain ninja theory can go somewhere for all i care.

I don’t see GI’s review up. Link it for me please?

  1. 8 isn’t a bad score.
  2. The mentality that seeing games that had the same score are equal to each other is a flawed one, especially if their different types of games. OoT has had perfect review scores. COD4 has also had perfect review scores. Should people get angry that COD4 isn’t as good as OoT and thus doesn’t deserve the score?

The only thing I ask out of reviews is objectivity. I feel I get that when I watch a Gametrailers review and read a 1UP review.

Yes we did. We where a Demon Hunter named Dante and we where hired by Trish to do a job and the specifics of the job changed as the game progressed. Did you pay any fucking attention AT ALL when you played DMC1?

IIRC, a lot of people/sites that thought RE5 was a decent game gave RE6 a less than satisfactory rating. People are over the fact that RE4 and beyond do not play like the older RE games. I can’t say much about RE6 since I haven’t played it yet, but it doesn’t sound that great, from what I’ve heard. It’s a shame since RE4 is one of the best games ever, and even RE5 was decent even if it was just reskinned RE4 with co-op. I don’t get how it can take such a dive between 5 and 6.

i did , and it was bad story telling , im not even going to go in to all the sh** wrong with the whole story.
my point dmc1 while a fun game was vauge it was hack and slash so people forgve it, doesnt mean its not vauge as all hell
even bayonetta is vauge
bayonetta isn’t even a character she is “sassy bitch” in the same way Dante was “cool guy” in dmc1 those are the outlines of a character

When Revelations gets its port, support that. Capcom won’t be able to ignore what people would actually want in a game if you do. Of course, people will ignore it, and the eventual RE7 will be back to RE6 mechanics.

But that are those characters and to say they aren’t characters cuz they don’t have deep progression or underlying motives doesn’t make them not characters. They have clearly defined motives, personalities, and characteristics in both DMC1 and Bayonetta. DMC1s narrative isn’t even all that vague i’d say it’s really quite blatant with the only thing left to interpretation is the relationship between Dante and Vergil. Otherwise it’s faily simple and straight forward.

I think you know very little about what you’re talking about. DMC1s story is bad but not because it’s vague or the characters aren’t characters.

Reviewers should just tell me if they liked a game or not and why, none of this score bullshit. Don’t pretend to be objective, just lay out the reasons and I’ll see if I agree. A lot of sites already do this.

In general I think early or release-day reviews are sort of pointless. All of them are done to fill deadlines and most of them have nothing interesting to say about the game. If there’s something about the game you want to tell people about or discuss, then write an article, otherwise you’re wasting everyone’s time.

The actual mechanics of RE6 wasn’t the problem. It would be have a better game if they dialed back on QTEs, scripted events, and not try to fit every video game action trope in the last 3 years into it.
