Devil May Cry!

lol…

What in marvel 2 was GOOD game design?

The Character Select Theme.

i just want to know why the hell people are pronouncing mundus as mun-dus. Isn’t it supposed to be moon-dis?

Anyway demo was fun and i got the game pre ordered cause i was bored. Hopefully my ps3 actually reads this game unlike TTT2 and every other game that isn’t Sonic generations.

What are you a jew? Answer a question with a question?

Get Anarchy Reigns instead. WTF. Bored…

  • the tag system
-ability to punish assist characters (fiercely)
    -air combos
-air dashing (yet Psychic Force 2012 had it but that was air-based combat so…)
-narrowing the buttons to four instead of six (easier to air dash instead of “one button air dash” and to combo)
-faster gameplay (try to play that shit on normal)
    -linking hyper combos
-(unintentional) most top tier characters where not easy to use or accessible
-every marvel game was broken. not trying to “fix” certain things was a good decision like OTG’s, frame traps, fuzzies
  • It’s Mahvel.

Good. Now the bad includes:
-The game doesn’t tell you what attack your assist will be. 56 characters and 3 assists each makes for a tedious process to be sure you know which assist will be what.

  • Clashing art styles. It makes the game look sloppy when you have new sprites like cable and old ones like Morrigan.
  • Messed up hitboxes. This makes it hard for many characters to effectively combo.
  • Removal of character stages and themes. While this is a pure aesthetic, it’s a downgrade from literally every previous vs game before this.
  • Several glitches, including many literal game breaking ones.
  • Character imbalance (this leads to tons of other points of bad game design in itself)
  • Roster choices make the game into more of SF vs. X-Men 2 rather than MvC. This is minor, but a partial false advertisement.
  • Narrowing buttons without changing the characters overall normal set limited the amount of normal options a character had.
    And that’s not all.
The bolded aren’t good game design points (the first bolded means nothing and the second bolded means even less).

What the fuck? MVC2 had a much better spread of Capcom characters than before. Marvel I’ll give you, it was an X-Men fest.

but it’s Mahvel.

who cares?!

put $20 down or I’ll stab you, son!

12 out of 28 of the Capcom cast are Street Fighter characters. That’s almost half the cast. That’s fucking horrible.

7 were brand new sprites.

and I thought the Alpha 2 > Alpha 3 debate in the TOL thread was crazy at times…

i expect a game where a majority of the cast is usable and something enjoyable fun to watch , some thing where the mechanics aren’t broken with a select few cast members and and has a diverse roster than isn’t just old too full with characters from two specific franchises when its supposed to be a crossover game,i cant wait for capcom to make a crossover game like that.

wait

they did that
twice

and they are both good
VERY good

people are just mad they aren’t 10 anymore

Marvel 3 is a fucking joke. What a sad sack of bullshit to claim MVC2 is full of bad game design then say TVC and Marvel 3 don’t. Get the fuck outta here those games have more stupid bullshit in them then Marvel 2 ever had.

Stop saying [people are mad they aren’t 10 anymore, it does nothing for your argument. Just makes you sound like a douche who needs to bring up non-existent points to bolster your flimsy argument.

More subjectivism. This is just going to turn into another war of opinions if you keep going on like this. I’m not trying to have that so, I’m done here.

If someone else wants to continue this pointless argument, be my guest.

MvC2 has better balance than those 2 games.

MvC2 actually has no balance at all.

Gamers are so spoiled these days that the inevitable tier breakdown in fighters lead people to believe games are broken. Oh how fast do we forget the DHC glitches and lvl 1 Xfactor kills in vanilla that would have certainly made it die out fairly quickly.

MvC3 aint too shabby for whats out. It aint perfect, but compared to MvC2, its perfect. I appreciate the technicality of MvC2, and the learning curve of excellent players, but its still a hot mess theoretically.
