That’s just embarrassing.
I finally got a chance to play the demo the other day. You guys are right about the no lock-on being awkward. I still like the presentation nonetheless, and although the cutscenes and clips on youtube made me really weary about giving this game a chance, alot of the stuff about the game didn’t bother me as much when I actually did have the controller in my hand.
I can understand people being upset about this reboot–well, not so much the new Dante and all that jazz, but the quality of the gameplay not matching the the older DMC titles. I mean, the whole point of a reboot is to take things in a new direction while retaining the essence, but the quality should either match or exceed it. But, I had fun with the demo. I’ll be buying it. And MGR. And Anarchy Reigns.
I’d like to hope that this game turns out to be moderately successful. Then maybe they might address the legitimate criticisms and build upon the world in the sequel…or maybe Capcom might pass it onto another studi–nahhh.

Phantom is usually the first hurdle people hit because he’s the first enemy you can’t kill by mashing on him head on.
After that game is pretty easy
The only legitimately hard parts of the game are Nelo Angelo 3 and the Nightmare encounters on DMD. Maybe Mundus too on that difficulty level but after fucking Nightmare I could have handled anything.

Let me offer a rebuttal. How many AAA experiences have happened AT ALL since 2008 from any company? It’s not a Capcom-only problem in the gaming industry contrary to popular belief.
The reason that game is barely being talked about in GD is due to the team openly requesting help from Ono for the battle system. We both know speaking his name is taboo around these parts lol.

Just went to gamestop and MGR poster snatched my attention instantly…
I had that feeling like “I would put in my preorder if I was the type of person who preorders shit”…
I’d never ever in a million years throw 60 bucks on this new DmC… Anarchy Reigns gets released a week before DmC and it’s only supposed to be 30 bucks… MGR gets released next month after… (Not in the same genre but Dead Space 3 also gets released during February)
No way in the hell would I ever buy this brand new… I could understand if there was a game drought at the beginning of next year but ummmm…
Seems like it’s suppose to be like Prince of Persia or Ass Creed but futuristic. If the only way to take down enemies is through those “memory” special moves, it could be interesting.

The cut scene around these parts of the game do seem somewhat more interesting than what’s been presented in the past.
In the end, I’m interested in how the story works. The entire “only some people can see Limbo” and others can’t is kind of a nice setting.
However, gameplay… having played the demo again, I doubt I’ll be buying this.
Rather, I’ll just go ahead and YouTube the entire game scenes and see what happens.

After reading the screens I gotta give Gregman props for having a decent discussion with Event. I do like Events points on NT/Capcom taking feedback to improve the game rather than shut it down and label it hate. As Gregman said himself, Capcom Unity was created as a place for people to vent/give props towards their products. Lets hope in the future they become more lenient towards debates and criticism rather than banning people.

I think the story their trying to tell is based on a project that was stuck in limbo till Capcom showed up. I have nothing against it but the vid speaks for itself.
