Devil May Cry!

Damn, Vergil looks like a faggot, too.

You can’t expect people who still shop at fucking Gamestop to know the actual prices of things, man. They think whatever price X game is at Gamestop that that’s the price everywhere else.

Protip: Don’t shop at Gamestop. Last time I was in there they were selling used games for more than the same game new at other retailers. GGPO, dumb consumers eat that shit up too, thinking they’re getting a deal.

Underarmor Vergil had god damn well better be an option.

Quinton Tarentino and Robert Rodriguez films are a good representation of “western style” than anything NT has done so far, and they’re violent/vulgar to boot. Whatever’s considered stylish in DmC must be a British thing. Barely stylish and no substance.

So let me get this straight, partial plot of the game revolves around taking the down the news media and soda companies?!?o_O Vergil is the leader of one of those conspiracy theorist cult thingys lol

Hmmmmm… I don’t really mind their “style” per-say, but I have to question the camera work.
I feel like the camera zooming in half way quickly, stop, and zooming in again mid-sentences of the character dialog can get rather annoying.
Among that, I also find the close up on Donte’s face every time he takes out a wave of enemies to be rather annoying.
I don’t care much for the character, so I have no hate or love, but I feel like it’s a bad direction to present your character THIS strongly.

My problem with the game is like what everyone else is saying, it’s “okay”, ya’ know, “not bad”.
The problem with that is I’m actually not a fan of these type of games (not my cup of tea), but the DMC series changed my opinion on that.
Having to play a basic action game… I’ll pass.

On the other hand, I actually found Metal Gear Raiden a lot of fun.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.

And he also is the president of his own software developing company (though that is a cover to made to hide that he is the conspiracy cult)

I bet it comes from the Secret Ingredient. Wait, it all makes sense now: This is all just a bad Futurama episode. I wonder what box Dante jumped into to end up in this fucked up dimension…

Woah woah woah. Slurm episode of Futurama was fantastic. Not Globetrotter good, but good none the less.

Yea, it was. What I’m referring to is a non-existent episode starring Dante, who ends up in an alternate dimension(similar to the real one where Fry and Leela were married).

Out of curiosity, is jump cancelling even possible in this game now? or is it just useless to do?

Vergil is just copy-paste Dino with different hair. Yeah, they’re supposed to be twins, but at least they could be differentiated in other DMC games by things other than just their hair. Dat lazyness.

Yes, it’s possible, as well as easier. I would say it’s pointless rather than useless, considering how easy it is to stay in the air using regular moves and get SSS ranks with little effort.

To be fair, that was just one scene. Besides, they have different voices, personalities, and styles. Those are the only things that should be different since they are identical twins.

No point in doing JCing at all. Plus it holds enemies in the air now. With the addition of the pull/lift system, staying in the air is piss easy as well.

You see all the corruption and deceit in our own world? In DmC’s world, that’s because of the demons. The media twisting things and lying to the masses by projecting a false image? Demons. Massive national debt crisis? Demons. Strip Clubs? Demons. Energy drinks and sodas? Violation of rights? Demons. Gamefaqs poor quality posts? Demons. Bad FG scrubs? Demons. COD every year? Demons. You get the picture.

For the flack I give the game, I do find it funny how Dante reacts to people. “Dante! It really is you.” "Uhhhh…"shrug “You don’t remember me?” "Nope"no fucks given

Yes it is. It’s extremely useful as air combos are more important. Canceling helm breaker type moves, and resetting into more air combos is the primary use. Doing a lot of damage in a short amount of time is the other.

To bad that in real life this happens because the stupid masses :frowning:

I know, it’s the one thing I hate in the HD transfer of DMC1. If they where gonna change it they should give me the option to put it back on Triangle.

And for DMC1 toughness are we forgetting the Special Missions? 3 Shadows>Everything.

And what moves in Bayonetta could you only do by hard locking cuz I never lock on in Bayonetta (Ever) but I can do everything through stick commands. What moves can’t be done when not locked on? Are there some I’m forgetting? Only one that comes to mind is Shuraba’s laser blast cuz holding the lock on button is the command for that move.

And there are plenty of action games that have a soft lock system and are great, but they designed for it from the ground up, and don’t have enemies that deflect attacks based on elements. I also think the soft lock in this demo is shitty, while the system works fine in a lot of other games.

And Shatta I am still looking forward to Remember Me. It looks cool so far.

They’re demons too

i meant to type this earlier, was busy, but i heard mundus mention the nephilim (from the bible, genesis and shit) in the scene where he was fucking that demon chick. wasnt the nephilim in that alleged DmC story leak. like time traveling nephilim or some shit. LOL, i mean on one hand, the story is fairly current if your in the realm of conspiracy theories, but it all sounds so ridiculous and cheesy to me when hes like, “hes controlling the world right now through debt”. WTF, nigga hush.

its one thing to write a current story line, and another to write one about conspiracy theories, biblical giants/fallen angels (nephilim), and whatever else is to come. for me if someone where like yo jimmy1200, gimme a current story line for DMC5 that we can use, id be like aight yo…

STORY OF DMC5

dmc5, 12-21-2012 came and the abyss that god banished the fallen angels and 120 million demons has been opened and the final war between heaven and hell has begun. nero has not been seen in 2 years, dante and trish have gone underground because the fallen and the demons want to kill him, and the angels want to reform him fully to their side, while, lady, who is still loyal to dante, has joined the sides of the angels to fight the holy war.

then id a second story line that a sect of humans, demons, or whatever wish to resurrect vergil and sparda. so part of the opening scenes would be the return of nero after a training mission or some shit dante sent him on because dante new the apocalypse was coming, but before nero returns, demons and angels have finally found dante and trish, the demons steal vergils sword from dante, and the angels kidnap trish and hold her as ransom until dante turns himself in or does what they say or some shit, so now the missions split yet again. Nero’s mission is to go retrieve the sword before they resurrect sparda and bring back vergil, because by dantes words, "the dead should stay dead. (sparda is who he is talking about, because the resurrection spell would bring back an evil and different version of his father), and dante’s mission is to get trish back.

all of that while the holy war is still going on. final boss would probably be sparda. id have a final fight where trish, lady, dante, vergil, and nero all fight at once sorta like when you tagged up with vergil in dmc3se, and id have an interaction with nero vs sparda, where nero does his devil trigger, and gets owned, and sparda gives hints that nero is family but his devil trigger is not complete and he is weak and useless. so in there we can finally find out who nero is, and get a full DT form for nero.

bam, story done. see how easy that was. lol

so yeah, i wonder if that leaked storyline for DmC is true now that i saw mundus say nephilim.

Bayonetta moves that require lock on
-Raw Launches (Lock On + Back + Attack)
-Swords had 2 hold Lock On and stand still for a while attacks each (Half Moon and Full Moon)

Not locking on didn’t grant new attacks.

Enemy Hike has a bigger area of effect, it’s easier to do now.
There’s also more ways to stay afloat.
Demo is available on PSN/XBL.

Yea but you can still launch after one punch, hardly requires a lock on.That move is well available without doing a lock on, not to mention she has other launcher options anyway. Half Moon and Full Moon are the same move, just one charged more then the other and it’s not that require a hard lock to do just that you have to hold the lock button to do them. The lock on button is the attack button for those moves. Same for the crow teleport. I mean I guess they count in the strictest sense of the word in that they require the lock on button, but they could have easily been moved to other buttons and their utility and use wouldn’t change.

And even still with Bayonetta’s huge move list only 3 moves requiring you to even touch the lock on button i think speaks well for it’s soft lock system.

I do think Bayonetta has a clever lock on system tho, I like that holding the lock on button does the same thing to the jump button as it does in DMC, among other things. I think it’s a good example that it’s better to use good ideas instead of new ideas for the sake of new ideas.

Like DmCs weapon switching system is stupid, there’s no reason for it to not be a toggle system like it was 3 and 4. You lose the use of at least on button (Two in this case since there are two dodge buttons). Switching the weapons witch to a toggle in this case would free up two buttons that do redundant things but we just had to have a new idea, instead of a good idea.
