The worst part about this shit is the fact that we’ll have to wait longer for the next game. Its already being shit on so much. I feel like even if the gameplay is legitimately good there is no way that this will be accepted. I can already see reviewers bashing this shit just for fun or hits.
I guess we have the same idea when it comes to both games.
oh my, that is a surprise indeed. still, kudos to them for making my favorite castlevania game since dawn or sorrow.
man i don’t know how anyone can say lament of innocence or that other gay ass castlevania with hector surpass LOS. niggas standards must be low as fuck. no wonder castlevania became stagnant as fuck until mecury steam created the masterpiece that is LOS.
There’s a few things I like about Dante that puts him no #1 on my list of action game heroes.
- he’s cool. looks cool. moves cool. Bayonetta can match him here, but not Kratos, who has about as much style as a bulldog eating custard from a bowl.
- he’s a protagonist and still a badass. Hes not like Kratos who’s just an unlikable psychopath, or Bayonetta who’s just there for sex appeal and ‘bad is good!’
- he’s not sadistic. (Bayonetta/Kratos again) Dante makes me feel good about killing demons because while he does like to play around with his opponents, he still dispatches them efficiently and doesn’t come across as an asshole when doing so.
- He’s got that henshin thing going on with his devil trigger, and he’s a demon on the side of justice. fuck yeah, it’s like Alucard all over again.
- HE DOESN’T SMOKE (this one is an IMPORTANT factor in whether or not I can like a protagonist. I’m damn picky about this detail.)
So yeah, you can see why I’m also kind of upset about this game. Gameplay looks like ass too. That part where the pews fall down in the church really shows that these guys have no idea how to make a good DMC action scene.
dante is pretty cool but he talks too fucking much at times. this is why i prefer ryu hyabusa to him. he says little but damn, when its go time hes gonna do damage.
So what happened to that other live action DMC movie that was supposed to directed by some black guy, and why have all traces of it dissappeared off the internet?
Haha Dante does talk a lot and sometimes it’s a little too much but Ryu NEVER talks…like at all. He has like 5 lines in both of his games. There is absolutely no personality there at all. Dude could be replaced with just about anyone and you wouldn’t notice. I love NGB but Ryu is too far in the other direction.
Yea Its weird that Dante looks EXACTLY like the dude (As shown in an image on page 1) …that did…Art? Is director of the game? I forgot his function, but if he forced his ‘‘looks’’ onto Dante just cause he had a role in creating it I’ll be raging.
Although THB, Im fine as long as Dante stays Dante. I mean the careless, badass attitude Dante, and from the trailer, even though he looks Emo as hell he was still the same ol’ Dante attitude wise, so im fine with it TBH. Looks are just looks.
I have only watched a short clip of the actual combat so I have to look out for that. Lets hope Capcom doesn’t butcher it and gives Dante Xfactor or some shit.
Wouldn’t DTing be basically Xfactor I.E. a stronger mode you activate in order to regen health and do more damage?
The new dante doesn’t have the same personality though. They’re obviously trying to make him out as more ‘troubled’ and rebellious.Dante never struck me as rebellious before, just knew what he was doing, even in DMC3.
Is this even DMC? What the fuck do i care, I got Ninja Gaiden 1 and 2, and God of War 1, 2, 3.
tbh, this game can tank for all i care. i got ninja gaiden 3 and bayonetta 2 coming soon. R.I.P dante.
I rage so hard whenever I watch the trailers. I grew up with cocky, confident, devil-may-care Dante who would rather go shirtless than without a pool table and a 60’s jukebox. And now they’re telling me that he was originally this skinny little crack addict?
I’m gonna go watch loops of Kayo Police doing fish faces to blow off some steam.
…So I’m guessing you guys totally missed the ending…Nothing happened tho…LIKE KILLING SATAN!!!
Yeah I see the what type of gamers you guys are.
What you mean “You guys”?
I think people forgot about DMC1 Dante where he showed compassion and emotion along with approaching each fight with a joke and confidence. It was a much better mix.
DMC 3 and 4 made Dante look untouchable as if he is never in any danger ever, he strayed pretty far away from being serious, which might have good for DMC3 since he was younger but DMC4? Nah, should’ve went back to being DMC Dante. Of course that Dante had his own charm by being incredibly cheesy, but it took away the human aspect imo.
The guys who think there was nothing notable about Lords of Shadow…You could argue the combat maybe…as that game borrowed alot from other games in that aspect…but the boss battles…and DAT ENDING, son! Cheesy one liners, explosions and sliding across the floor with a guitar wasnt needed to make that game awesome, my friend.
Ok but there’s only one guy saying that lol.
I both agree and disagree.
Having played through 1, 3, and 4, I think that the Dante in DMC1 felt unfinished or unpolished. The cheesy dialogue and mediocre voice acting didn’t do him any justice, but beyond the surface, DMC1 Dante just didn’t do as well of a job fitting his fictional background as his DMC3 counterpart did.
The reason I really like DMC3’s rendition of Dante is because he feels more accessible on a human level, but you kinda have to understand his background to get at that. As a kid, he has to watch as his mom gets killed by demons, and thinks his brother dies as well. That kinda fucks you up on a fundamental level. Even though the script was pretty concise in DMC3, if you were really paying attention you can see how the director was really trying to push that point across.
Dante acts like a brash, arrogant, confident asshole, but that’s just an act he’s created because he’s so fucked up. Dante’s past haunts him, which is the reason why he’s turned into that insufferable, overconfident douche. However, he’s trying to do his part by helping the humans around him, killing off the demons preying on them. On the other end of the spectrum, you see how Vergil is just as fucked up as his brother. Instead of putting on a mask of pretend overconfidence though, Vergil is trying to mask his half-human side which he perceives as a weakness, and that has turned him cold, distant and arrogant. He’s willing to do anything to get as much power as he can, no matter the cost, so he doesn’t have to go through an event like watching his mother get killed again.
In all honesty, the mainstream like DMC3 Dante because he’s got the broadsword and rocket launcher to back that attitude. Dig a little deeper though, and you can see how all the pieces really fit together.
IMHO, DMC4 was kind of a trainwreck. At its core, it was just a corny love story with bland characters that didn’t have any real depth. Total disappointment.
