Given the developer’s track record and the fact that nothing shown so far has resembled what people expect from the series, these angrily optimistic posts saying that the game will be awesome make about as much sense as turning a cool character into a skinny flammingly gay smackhead to increase his appeal in a region where the big bad ass space marine is king.

The music sounds nothing like Devil May Cry is old efforts… looks like some kind of cyberpunk(DmC has a gothic church type style) shit where he’s trying to rip down the “establishment”(blood on the wall saying “you don’t have to accept things as they are”), Dante may be a hero, but his character doesn’t suggest(it’s not supposed to but sure as hell does here) it so much(he has the don’t give a fuck attitude, he’s in it for money/fun most of the time and just likes to kick ass)…
The framerate and animations are abysmal… DAT Unreal Engine…
That IS NOT typical Devil May Cry Combat, nothing looks as it should compared to older ones(especially considering its built on an engine that Capcom has never used for any game and its a cop-out route as far as the creation of this game), Chief of Design’s arrogant ass throws his face on the game’s main character, and Ninja Theory basically says “Fuck what the fans think, we’re doing us” regardless of being a talentless game studio compared to others who could have done this game way better… they have no right to be that fucking arrogant…
This is just not about “Dante does not have white hair and a shiny red coat, I’m not buying the fucking game lulz”… I have bigger problems with this thing than that…
And Capcom is just sitting by passively and waiting for this shit to tank… best throw some review bribery money forward quick to protect that investment…

DMC looked awesome in the first trailer, still looks awsome. Devil’s never cry but fanboys always do.
Anybody that watched those E3 vids and still thinks this game will be as good as the rest of the series is kidding themselves. Beyond Dino’s heroin-chiq look, and the retarded ‘Devil Trigger’ Hey look! His coat turns bright red and his hair becomes white like the real Dante’s!, that combat is not the DMC combat we all know and love.
Honestly, the combat looks ‘okay’ and ‘passable’, but it is not Devil May Cry-style over-the-top and stylish. I can’t co-sign this game… Ninja Theory sucks and their head guy is the biggest douche in the world for turning Dante into his virtual avatar. Fuck Ninja Theory. Seriously.

I believe that Kamiya has actually stated that he’d like to go back to DMC again.
I’m still on the fence about this game. I can deal with Dante’s look, I honestly can because it’s an ORIGIN story. It’s where Dante is starting to experience his powers. Who knows what happens in the game to make him change. So don’t get so caught up on it. Save the hate until the game is in our hands and start playing with it.

Talking about past DMC Games:
DMC 3: SE is pretty much the pinnacle of this franchise. Virgil had this cool factor to him I haven’t seen in any other antagonists since.
DMC 4 would’ve been better if Dante didn’t do everything you just did as Nero. And Nero was easy mode with those cinematic moves. I’d just charge up his gun to the max, let it rip, generic combo, boom you can trigger the enemy’s cinematic and they lose most of their health, generic combo, DONE. Next enemy. Shit got repetitive by the 2nd mission. Bloody Palace mode was fun. That really gave you a chance to push Dante to his limits, his DMC4 version is the best version, fuh real. Change styles on the fly was so amazing. Was able to get to the 7th circle before other games came out and I lost interest.
Oh and I like basketball a lot but fucking Christ man, Nero loves them SLAM DUNKS.
