they can’t possibly see anyone picking up the series, even newcomers to the series. I’ll beat them up if they say they enjoyed the game
@ the bolded - That is true to an extent, but even with some good marketing if the game doesn’t appeal to the masses it’s still not gonna sell too well despite it’s quality. Also true in rap. A good single and promotion isn’t a guarantee of sales. People have to think it’s ‘cool’ and ‘in’ to buy your product and support you. I may like Bayonetta but even with some solid promotion I don’t think my friends who are into Modern Warfare and Gears of War will ever buy it (possibly borrow though) because it seems so weird.
What some people view as original or not original has nothign to do with it, and even the QUALITY is questionable when it comes to sales…look at Duke Nuke’m which did moderatly ok with sales despite being one of the most worst reviewed games in recent memory.
If a game doesn’t sell - it has more to do with advertisement and targeted audience. What seperates the DMC crowd form the CoD crowd? Its INSTNATLY multiplayer. Those interested in multiplayer games aren’t going to look at something like Bayonetta, while someone who isn’t hung up on multiplayer will. It’s really that simple. And target audience is part of advertising. CoD advertises their single player because they NO their multiplayer will sell, but its single player that can bring in potential customers. I didn’t touch the single player for BO, not even the first mission, and the game is approaching a year old. My focus on multiplayer and fighting gmaes is exactly WHY I haven’t finished DMC3 or taking it back further - Godhand…I got to a mildly challenging part, and instead of getting frustrated - I switched to a fighting game/multiplayer game and forgot about it.
- :bluu:
So if it’s a matter of something like multiplayer then how can you expect games that aren’t based around it to sell even with promotion? You said if a game doesn’t sell it has more to do with advertisement and targeted audience, which was part of my point. Quality doesn’t guarantee sales, it’s about whether or not it appeals to the masses. Multiplayer is something that a lot of people are focused on of course, and so going back to my original point even if a game is good without appealing or having something that appeals to the masses (like multiplayer), it’s not gonna sell well. I never said anything about originality, just about whether or not it appeals to many.
Okay.
New gameplay vid.
The game still looks worse than DMC1. How does a current gen game do that? I would like the trailer more if it wasn’t DmC. Kinda “like” the rising Rain Storm.
What the hell are you talking about man. This game looks loads better than DMC 1, the fuck, how are you even going to COMPARE EARLY PS2 Graphics to a PS3 game? The hate you have for this game must be blinding you.
Graphics definitely look better than DMC1.
Honestly impressed with that trailer but I’m remaining skeptical.
Trailer looks decent, but I didn’t really see any of that WOW factor in the attacks that DMC is known for.
Yeah it still looks slow, camera entirely too far away but it’s better than the last trailer imo. Doesn’t appear to be God of War style game in this trailer.
Still worried about fluidity and responsiveness in controls.
<—came in with very low expectations from Ninja Theory
Yeah NGII went to far with the intense camera angles, but this is just the complete opposite. They really need to get that balance that DMC and Bayonetta has to make it really exciting.
Yeah that trailer was better than I expected. I don’t mind the zoomed out camera angle too much as I like to see the pretty environments when I fight and the larger spaces might make for more husslin’ around to kill things. But you are right Gasaraki. It lacks that wow factor. Everything looked familiar weapon wise.
LMAO
Oh man I can’t believe what I’m reading.
wtf, my old thread is gone!? it made it onto some site and was getting all kinds of attention…kinda lol
r.i.p best thread I ever made
Half Breed May Cry: No where to call home.
I didn’t read about how it affects his ONE MELEE WEAPON. Omg this game better have more than one melee weapon because if all it has is a transforming rebellion it is guaranteed to suck.
Whenever I click this thread when I’m bored and read the new updates given on the game’s story, graphics, character development.
Man I get fucking irate, and I’m not even a huge DMC fan nor played every single one.
Kratos May Cry: Its okay though, he has guns now.
Lol at the new DmC storyline biting hard at the preacher; too bad in DmC you don’t get something as awesome as Genesis, instead you get a skinny prick smoking cigarrettes out of it.
