Devil May Cry 5

Not sure who’s idea this was, but it’s a quick way to waste 13 minutes on Youtube.

Am I just old and don’t remember, but didn’t enemies in old DMC games only go into DT in DMD mode if you took too long to kill them? I’ve noticed that in DMC5 enemies will just auto DT at certain health thresholds, and I’m not really a fan since it turns the game into a bit of a slog if enemies just become massive damage sponges 80% of the time. Is there something I’m not getting or is that just how DMD mode is now?

Glad to see this isn’t just me. I’ve noticed as well. Just wrecking shit then full stop, why is this fucker taking so long to die.

It was like that in the DMC3 for sure. I remember it as a race against the clock to kill everything. This game is a bit different like you said. In DMC5 it seems at the last 15-25% they DT now.

Fighting a bunch of Riots is especially annoying since they DT at like 75%. Yeesh. The game is still fun but I’m not really feeling DMD mode like I did in previous games. Seems like a strange design choice to me. I’m not a big fan of “the enemy is harder now because he’s just a big damage sponge” design choice in general. Makes encounters boring.

This honest was one of my biggest complaints about God of War. I didn’t even attempt Give Me GOW mode until they implemented NG+ mode. It would have made the game an exercise in patience instead of being a great experience. Going through DMD mode now feels like it somewhat does the same thing although you look much cooler playing it.

Yeah, I feel like DT would be way better if it just increased enemy speed or something by a bit. Or maybe even increase speed and power but only if there’s only one enemy left so you might actually want to make a choice to save a tough enemy for last so you can focus it or try to leave a weak enemy last but deal with fighting a tougher one while the group is still around.

Or something like that

It was based on health and kills in DMC3. Enemies would DT from.low health or for getting 3 or more kills. It was a HORRIBLE system and the main reason 3’s DMD isn’t very fun.

The only DMD mode based on time was DMC1s which makes sense as DMC1s.highest weighted score for rank was Time above all else. So DMD was designed to make you want to be come even more efficient so you kill stuff before it Triggers.

Itsuno has always built his DMD mode on health values and kills. Its hit or miss for me honestly. I think stuff still dying kinda too fast on SoS so im hoping DMD works out for me this time.

i think you can sword parry/clash with V’s cane. not just stun.

Yeah you can

Clash works with V’s cane. Pulled it off by accident on my first playthrough. Just about done obtaining everything for V. Just can’t stop playing Dante.

I forgot to mention in my earlier post that Nidhogg was an absolutely nightmare to play through on DMD. Way too much stuff to keep track of on that fight. Never want to do it again. lol

V is faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar more difficult to play with on DMD than the other modes.

But but but…hes so button mashy I don’t have to do anything but face roll the controller.

I agree totally on 3’s DMD mode. It isn’t fun having grunt enemies take that long to kill, especially when some were super annoying like enigmas and soul eaters (the annoying shits I called phantasms earlier). I ended up spamming rockets and real impact to get knockdowns and damage when enemies DT’ed. I only DMD’ed 4 once or twice, don’t remember it being that much of a drag. Was still really tough though.

Finally picked this up today. Got the HK version, which for some reason, comes with DLC codes for the pre-order bonuses.

Finally got my DMC V codes from AMD

Just realized that the theme we got for the Asian version isn’t the same as the one for the US. It’s the “Heroines” theme with Lady, Trish, and Nico (instead of Dante, Nero, and Virgil).

They should have put Trish where Nico is, Lady where Trish is, and Nico where Lady is.
