Is it just me or the final boss is “easier” with Nero than with Dante?
Yeah, I thought so too. I’m thinking it’s at least partially because you’re focused on the more normal rhythm of dodging and countering than using royal guard. I don’t normally use RG, I find that it screws up my usual flow. I intend on going back to mission 19 SoS and avoiding RG altogether.
I’m pretty sure he has less life and they give you recharging meter. Pretty sure it’s supposed to be a “victory lap” type of thing, especially on Devil Hunter difficulty.

I read somewhere that on your first playthrough, regardless of difficulty, Nero gets recharging meter. Following playthroughs don’t have that advantage.

So after playing the shit out of SoS the last couple days, I retract my boss complaints. Still prefer 3 and 4’s bosses, but these are still good. Normal enemies are great, best of the series IMO. No shitty ones like phantasms, archangels, or 3’s bloodgoyles, and I haven’t come across any annoying things like repeating shield rebounds in 4. The gauntlets are awesome as well, super satisfying.
