Wait what? Are you serious? You don’t have to be able to do reverse calibur to know it’s just a style thing. You can make an argument for Jump Canceling(which yeah, is a basic so maybe that’s given) since it avoids danger, same with Guard Flying on the extreme end, but most of the highest level techniques in style videos are just for that, style, not combat in the neutral.

Because he’s playing current DMC while claiming to hate current DMC. I’ve also seen you make similar post about how much better DMC1 is compared to current DMC and I remember you saying some negative stuff about your time with the demo too. So maybe you also hate current DMC (?)

I don’t think he ever said he hated it, but I know I never said I hated it. I just think DMC1 has better combat design than any other DMC so far, which I will always stand by until a new DMC puts more emphasis on the neutral game and the interaction of the enemy’s abilities relative to yours. DMC4 is the most technically impressive, for sure, and has the greatest player freedom, but player freedom doesn’t mean you actually have well designed situations.
I never said it was wrong for newer DMCs to be this way, but it is less interesting to me personally than the more combat focused style of game. I don’t think I’ve ever said I don’t play the other DMCs or even don’t enjoy them, because I do. But I enjoy them while overall still preferring the design intent in DMC1.

Ive never said i hate current DMC. I am very critical of current DMC because i think it can be better in areas that its very deficient in and it annoyes me the fanbase pines away for more silly combo options when the combat doesnt support it as it already is.
I really like current DMC, doesnt mean i think its as good as everyone else does tho. DMC1 is srill a better action game then 3 or 4 are so im really hoping 5 can get to that level. It probably and i will love and be disappointed by it regardless.
I didnt know i had to do a bunch of super high level combo bullshit i havent done in like 10+ years and that my wrists honestly dont support anymore in order to have an opinion. I used to do a lot of those high level combos and ahit and now i pay for it with painful carpel tunnel (allong with all the other games i play). I cant do all the shit i used to be able to do anymore, even still i know how much effect it had on the combat and it hasn’t been good for for the actual combat. Great for the combos and player expression but combat has taken a massive back seat due to it for some reason.

Not sure about the Gate keeping stuff. I’m just saying you have nothing to say positive about current DMC. All you do is talk about how DMC1 is the best. Your repetitiveness over the course of multiple years has made me come to the conclusion that you hate current DMC. It’s not like you talk about current DMC’s strengths and its weakness. Nah, your argue is simply DMC1 is the best and that they should go back to their roots. I’ve been in some detailed discussion with you in the past about DMC but since you’re just a broken record I don’t even bother nowadays. That’s why it was pretty shocking to me when you posted those two videos.
In the end I’m glad you actually support the series and would love to hear what you like about DMC5 so far.
Theres not much posative to say that everyone else isnt already saying. Everyone always only talks about how amazing these games are (they are great dont get me wrong) but never talk about where they falter, and maybe i come off as harsh but they falter in my favorite part of action games…combat. like actually fighting shit. Thats why i hold DMC1 and Ninja Gaiden Black in such high regard cuz in damn near 20 years almost no one including those series sequels do it as well. Ninja Gaiden decided to focus on hyper violence and just throwing a metric fuck ton of shit at you instead of good well paced combat (imo) and DMC ditched its amazing combat and enemy design to become a…well basically a Mahvel game. Its all so focused on all the stupid shit you can do and the enemies never seem to be able to compete. They get left in the dust majority of the time so youre just a wrecking ball. Itsuno thinks he can make up for it in just number and enemy combinations but its really not the same as fighting something like a Shadow, or a Baste (NG) or Grace and Glory, these things are out for blood and have unique and interesting behaivors that make them fun to fight, and even more rewarding to style on.
I love DMC as a series and i especially love DMC1, and think Itsuno can give me enemies that are engaging to fight outside of boss battles. Thats why DMC1 is still the best one.
Also you either dont follow the threads as well as you think or as far back as you think because theres a huge conversation between me and DoctorMario where we debate DMC3 and 4 and i site 4 as being better then 3 specifically because its enemy set is better. Pretty long convo, hard to miss.
