I’d like to add that your voices will be heard more at the Capcom Unity forums than here…at least more than they would here. I wouldn’t be surprised if there was a petition there already.
i share similar sentiments. you pay a premium that covers the physical reproduction of a bluray disc but leave it to capcom to do a half-assed job for their usual cash grab shenanigans.
there’s a sense of security in having a physical game disc that you can keep in pristine condition as a back-up if and when your hdd decides to fail on you somehow. that’s reasonable enough, right? but to keep it as download only? get the fuck outta here!
but srk is so entertaining on multiple levels that CU can’t offer. the banter alone is so precious.
I’ve been watching videos of DMC4:SE and they upped the enemy count like crazy. Sad thing is they stand around like training dummies waiting for you to get dat easy SSS style rank. 50+ enemies and maybe 1 or 2 are trying to attack you at a time.
Enemies in DMC1 and DMC3 are so much more fun to fight, because they’re actually aggressive and pose a threat.
Rejecting DMC4 SE just pushes the proper franchise further away and no one wins.
DMC4 SE itself is worth getting for DMC4 SE itself. DMC4 has the best gameplay in the genre, best presentation and the story rivals DMC3. People that hate on it, are just hipsters and trolls just steering community opinions in the wrong direction. DMC4 is clearly better than DMC1 and DMC2, and in at least some ways better than DMC3.
and of course 1,000,000,000,000,000 times better than anything DmC.
No true fan would turn their back on a chance to influence Capcom’s decisions for DMC’s future.
And no true fan would underrate the value of DMC4 Special Edition itself!!
**
We at least get DMC4SE, the most definitive DMC4. DMC4 among fans is a favorite alongside DMC3SE and DMC1. Plus this version is going to raise the standards in more ways than three.
It’s actually a great priviledge to be getting this edition instead of just some copy/paste PS3 DMC4 with nothing added.
But still, supporting DMC4 SE is better chance than having everyone ignore it and wipe out any chance of this series getting back on track. **
DMC4 SE is the greatest new definitive DMC game since DMC3 SE!! For DMC4SE itself is worth all the hype Street Fighter and Resident Evil games get.
The Last of Us fans were drooling for their special/remastered edition, even calling it GOTY again,
and meanwhile here we have the so called DMC fans sucking teeth at what is the greatest
perfected edition a DMC has ever received.
At least some of these true gamers and fans are rightfully anticipating this
playable Dante
playable Nero
*playable Vergil
*playable Lady
*playable Trish
*Legendary Dark Knight mode.
*a plethora of new costumes, which are fully compatible with in-game cutscenes
*new story cutscenes Each new character in DMC4SE has a new Opening and Ending story movies.
*improved gameplay
So people that think games can only sell big on physical, are wrong.
**
Gamers that are sooooo picky that they only buy physical videogames,
are like those old fashioned format people that refuse to listen to music
unless it’s on old records or cassette tapes instead of digital. **
Like really, the console gamers especially should be more mature and open minded, like the PC gamers,
for over a decade, have been buying and playing their games digitally without fuss.
Console gamers have to get with the times.
the console digital store is right in front of them and gives them more advantages.
and HDDs last longer and load data faster than disc drives.
plus it’s free to redownload purchased games compared to replacing a disc.
the only ones that want physical, are those peddlers that buy games to sell them on ebay.
Overall if people actually turn their backs on DMC4 SE, they are not true fans. Even if Capcom doesn’t make DMC5, even if it’s not a worthy DMC5, at least they did well to give us a perfected masterpiece with DMC4 SE being the best new DMC to date.
If DMC4 SE doesn’t sell at least as much as Resident Evil HD Remaster,
which was also a digital only release in the west, that goes to show that the majority of the DMC fans have no true passion and no true respect for the original franchise, and really don’t care about at least making an attempt to influence its future, while
appreciating what they are getting out of DMC4 SE, which is a lot more than most remasters/remakes add.
Did RE Remake even add Barry and Wesker playable? nope.
**
DMC4 SE selling less than RE HD REmaster, would mean the majority of the DMC fanbase would be seen as an EMBARRASSMENT to the franchise, compared to the Resident Evil and Street Fighter fanbase. ** It would prove to Capcom that the 3+ million sales of DMC4 in the past, means nothing these days.
They don’t measure a franchise’s demand based on last gen sales, but this current gen sales.
Fans shouldn’t simply get it for a proper DMC5, but for DMC4 SE itself primarily.
This is practically the Final Fantasy VII remake of DMC4 (and a remake doesn’t need to redo the graphics to count as a significant remake.)
DMC4 is a masterpiece of masterpieces, and DMC4 SE is a masterpiece perfected more than any other action game.
How could any DMC fan turn their back on this and claim to be a true DMC fan???
As for myself, I’m not the biggest DMC fan there is. I played all 4, it isn’t my most top favorite franchise,
but I know quality, and greater gaming values and improvements when I see it.
It’s insane that an intermediate fan has more respect and enthusiasm for DMC4 SE, and care about the core series, more than the supposed “hardcore DMC fans” that use any excuse in the book to betray this.
That’s Legendary Dark Knight mode. It was in the DMC4 PC release, I believe? Main campaign isn’t going to look like that. Looks like a lot of fun regardless. I hope the enemies are aggressive in NG and Bayo sense, but maybe that’s too much to hope for with all the work already done on this title.
Well I already have a ps4 and I’ve always wanted to get back to DMC4 but trying to beat other games have kept me from doing it, this Hd rerelease is the best excuse to go back and play it.
Asian versions of the game will have both English and Japanese audio/subtitles just for 30 bucks there’s no reason not to import. You can get it from play-asia easily.
To buy both the hard copy and digital download just to support capcom and the western release I don’t know about that I don’t trust capcom that much. But if casuals really care about DMC the game will sell in digital form I don’t see it as a problem I think harcore fans care more about their hard copies.
Yeah let’s just hope this game does well. I hope Capcom isn’t expecting RE sales, because I feel with that doing so well they gonna start expecting everything digital to do that. smh Capcom…
But this may sale decently enough. Since both versions of DmC didn’t do well that means that both core fans and casuals didn’t give af about it.
But at the same time the casual DMC fans I know aren’t realy into the gameplay. They just link Dante and Vergil, and I know they are definitely playing at a casual level because they don’t see much difference in game play between DMC3,4, and DmC.
So this is gonna rely heavily on the core fans, idk how big the core community is, but let’s hope it’s big enough.
Good lord DMC4 is hardly a master peice, its highly flawed, its half finished and this SE is just them bolting extra characters and fluff to the unfinished product.
I’m excited for it to but let’s not pretend like this isn’t Capcom trying to sell us a 7 year old game they failed to finish the first time and are now still not finishing it but just bolting on extras, a lot of which should have been there from three beginning to boot.
Not tryna defend the level rehasing because it was wack and cool at the same time to re fight bosses as Dante, but they could’ve maybe did that without the in your face backtracking and had those bosses re appear at different parts with new places for Dante
But the gameplay was really well done and Bloody Palace makes up for the rehashed levels, although I wish they went ahead and did with whatever Dante’s story section was gonna be and finish it
Still say they shoulodn’t have Done Dante in story mode.
Leave all 21 missions for Nero and just have Dante do Nero’s shit with his own cutscenes ala Vergil in DMC3SE
