DEVASTATION 2009 : June 19th-21st : $10,000.00 in Prize Pots

Really, can you switch characters when you face a new opponent? Balrog may cut it against Daigo’s Ryu, but I’m not sure if it will against all those scary Sagat’s that Japan is chock full of.

great event, let see evo top this…

i didnt go to this but this is one of the best weekends i had in a long time

DJWheat and his crew did an amazing job covering this event. I really hope they are invited by the EVO staff to livestream EVO.

Where can I find the complete tournament results?

choi just needs a few more weeks with the game

Any videos I have will be available for download beginning Tuesday.

I had an amazing time. Was really good meeting a lot of people, and bumping into a couple people I haven’t seen in many years. I’m glad I got back into the fighting game scene. I forgot how much tournaments are. I’ll see a lot of you guys at Evo, and Mike Ross, I’m coming for my revenge.

What an event, shit was so hype. The stream epic as all hell. Congrats to Justin for bringing the hate and coming out on top.

The DEVASTATION cew want to thank EVERYONE that was at this event.

I seen a few ppl that i hadn’t seen in a while and had alot of fun. This was a tough crowd with ALOT of amaizing players.

I just have to say, i want a rematch with MNO (i think that was your name). You knocked me into the loser brackets on the initial pools. All i can say is that i never should have switched to guile… lol next time! It was a great match and i need to get at you with after some more practice… i’ll see you on that next year!

MAD LOVE (yes homo) to everyone for showing up. I was all over the place working all the odds and ends of the event but It was a blast!

HYPE!

Wow, awesome event, awesome matches, great staff and commentating.
I stayed up all night watching the live stream from australia, but time to save up some money to be at Devastation 2010. :wgrin:

Looking forward to watching some of those matches again.

Which feed are the SF4 matches on?

IZ ZAT ME? ON YUR SHURT?

Here are my thoughts, I am always in favor of power seeding at least the 8 best players in a bracket of up to 64 and then separating as much as I can by region. This wasn’t the case in the semifinal bracket. Now, I understand where Tom is coming from saying that the first round of the semifinals could have been considered like the 4th or 5th round. But then what was the point of rearranging the brackets after pools? Why not just have one big bracket and forget the shuffling? Also, the process in creating the semi final bracket also wasn’t very efficient imo either. Basically, it was randomized by the order people finished their pools in. And from what I was told, they were trying to separate by region. That’s fine and dandy. But because they were filling in the semi final bracket one at a time as each pool finished instead of doing it all together, you had a match like Kai vs. Combofiend going first round in semis simply because Kai was the last person to qualify and Combo’s opponent was the only slot left. Just my two cents.

Does anyone know where I can find the final results? I watched most everything but missed the finals of SFIV

i’m kind of sad that it’s over. i had a blast watching it.

thanks dude, I wonder why they labeled it as Sat though. I’ve been trying to find the video that has the beginning of today (Sunday 21) SF4 matches up to the “Sat 5” video finals. Anyone got a link to that?

the labling is off… im sure they will fixx it soon enbough… im just sad that they didnt record the feed of my matches… i wanted to see my playback and see exactly how random my play was lol
