Dev blog Gen changes AE 2012

When you guys say Jyasen->FAL2, are you saying that combos? Which hit? I haven’t been able to get a crumple in that combo despite repeated attempts.

Does anyone know why Gen glows yellow when landing after a fake Oga? I’m assuming it’s just to show your opponent you did a fake Oga. I tried testing to see if it had invincibility but it doesn’t look like it does.

Not yet. I’ve tried to see if it’s strike and projectile invincible, it’s not. Still no explanation yet.,

Did some grinding, EX Hands into U2 works on these characters (21 of the cast.) Didn’t do any trick to try and make it connect easier, just midscreen combo.

Abel, Akuma, Balrog (Boxer), Bison (Dictator), Cammy, Deejay, Dhalsim, Dudley, El Fuerte, Guile, Guy, Juri, Makoto, Oni, Rufus, Sagat, Seth, T. Hawk, Vega, Yang, Yun

Crane C.MK combos into S.LP or HP Hands on counter hit. (Crane C.MK PPP S.LP S.MP LK Gekiro 261 Damage.) (Crane C.MK PPP S.LP TC2 LK Gekiro 285 Damage.)

With FADC on counter hit combos into S.MP (Crane C.MK FADC PPP S.MP TC2 LK Gekiro 315 Damage.)

yeb. this dosent pertain to 2012 specificlly, but you know the games engine pretty well, so maybe you could answer this question for me

how does the game handle start up for instant jump attacks?

i know of the pre jump frames. but does the game just add the start up of the normal as soon as pre jump is over?

I didn’t see this mentioned anywhere, but EX Oga is now the medium height on the wall, not the heavy, which I believe was one of Amiyu’s requests at location tests. However, EX Oga can travel full screen from the wall, whereas medium obviously cannot. The angle is totally different off the wall.

I’m not sure what the yellow flash on all versions of the Oga feint is all about. Probably just a glitch.

Hmm, is it just me or is [KKK] U2 slightly slower in 2012?

hmm is the ex teiga into c ult 2 any easier to anyone else here. i could do it in AE but the situation seems to need to be the same as to where i hit the person

hmm… idk. i definitely want someone to check on that. maybe explains why it doesnt seem to be much if any easier for ME to do oga into ult2 even wiht the ex oga.

edit- may of just been me. got the timing for it. but still ult 2 does seem slower. could be because im just looking for flaw so im clinging onto your post MTS

The roll combos seem pretty easy. You can stance change while Gen is rolling and then, when you FADC foward, Gen is already in the desired stance.

ex Oga into u2 doesnt seem as free as others stated it only seems to work if the opponent is in the corner. Are other Gen’s hitting it at will? My execution is slighty above average at best.

It seems there’s an extra frame in there, like the jump attack can’t start on your first airborne frame. So pre-jump+1+startup.

the crossup oga in the video i posted works on cody + juri + Ryu + Ken+ akuma + Gouken + using lk oga + dudley but you need to be fast and on Guy using mk oga …and works on alots of other character i need to check !!!

i really ur post i do understand the meaning of Roll when it hits you you advantage to FADC then start a combos … but the thing that i did not get it that if your opponent blocking what are the advantage that Gen gets if he FADC the rolls when they are blocking ?? any explanation ?

and i need to know what are they mean by these two :

• (Mantis) Focus Attack - Lengthened hit stun by 3F on a level 1 hit, giving equal frame advantage/disadvantage on a hit after completing the fastest possible Dash.

• (Crane) Focus Attack - Lengthened block stun by 3F on a level 1 block, giving equal frame advantage/disadvantage on a block after completing the fastest possible Dash.

If you hit your opponent with a Level 1 Focus Attack in Mantis and you dash cancel forward, you’re at even frames.

If your opponent blocks a Crane Level 1 Focus attack and you dash cancel forward, you’re at even frames.

what about the roll if the opponent blocking and i FADC DASH TOWARD HIM ? is there any advantage ?

EX oga have new crossup setups, i tried a bit:

VS shotos, midscreen (tested on ryu & akuma):

BnB(ended in lk gekiro, full), far Ex oga = crossup
Sweep at medium or medium/close distance, far Ex oga = crossup (vs claw works too)
After sweep+oga cross you can do it again.

Im sure that the setups for all characters are much more easier with EX oga, i need to test more.
