I wasn’t a fan of Borderland’s ‘loot crazy’ drops and rewards. If it’s like that it makes rewards meaningless. Now I totally get that the loot lottery Destiny got going can be frustrating, and grinding is especially hard in this game, but you eventually get cool shit for the work put in. I don’t really trust the random loot drops and Crucible post-game rewards anyway. Just stuff to break down for Glimmer and materials. I’m grinding for Vanguard/Crucible/Faction gear. Stuff I have my eye on. I got a Legendary Hunter helmet bout 30mins ago after a Control match. Broke it down, moved on.
I’m very happy everybody ever ain’t running around with Legendary/Exotic gear not two weeks after launch. If anything it’s evidence against people claiming they ‘finished’ the game; then the other complaint is how they have to grind for stuff. This isn’t a game you ‘finish’. MMOs were never like that. If past games are any indications, Destiny in about a year will not be the Destiny we see now. MMOs are an investment for player and studio. I dunno… been reading some wildly contradicting gripes on the game. It has its flaws but the arguments are interesting.
I haven’t regretted purchasing a game since Gears 3… Man, I know you guys say I should wait it out until it gets better, but I don’t have the time or money to waste. This game needs to go before the inevitable price drop. I skipped Naruto for this, Persona is coming out in two weeks, Smash on Oct. 3rd… At this point, I’d rather recoup what I can, get those other games, then buy Destiny again if/when it gets better.
It sucks, because there’s soooo much potential here.
Alright guys so I know Ive been bitching a bit but I just had the most euphoric moment ever with the game.
I was grinding Patrols for Vanguard rep. I did about 30 of em to get the rep I need for level 2 vanguard. I go to the vanguard master and I have enough marks for TWO pieces of armor. My defense jumps 54 points and I hit light Level 25. I pretty much jizzed in my pants because I worked my ass off to get it done tonight. So I had some engrams to turn in too. Did those and they were shit but I hit Level 6 rep with the cryptarch. Go get my reward from the post master. Gives me a legendary engram. I turn it in and get a Justicar’s mask making a third legendary piece of armor for 981 defense.
Gears 3 is balanced as fuck you just werent good at it. It even had dedicated servers to boot for the first time in the series. Hosts advantage with a gnasher was finally gone.
It didn’t feel balanced to me at all, and it was boring. I need to stop giving chances to shooters… They’re not my genre of game, and I need to accept that so I stop wasting money.
Well, you kinda did since the thread is split 4 ways and level differences are going to keep you from decent multiplayer for a good while. I have a Lv.3 character I would’ve been able to join you with, but no cross-platform and whatnot…
Shit I wasn’t on very long tonight, but I’ll be on longer tomorrow. Change your settings in the roster tab to public and there’s a better chance for invites from random people. Or you can try to join fire teams from people you meet in the tower by pressing R3 when you’re close to them and then going to the roster tab and joining that person’s fire team. Look for people around your same level to do missions with.

One of the weekly strikes has my number right now though, so getting some gear powered up will be a nice change. That sucks that the raid got moved. I’m 22 now and I ran into some Lvl26 Vex bot that apparently…“resists” my attempts to kill it. Right now, I’m really missing the WTF smiley.

what the real joke is is that I had a personal experience with the game, theres a forbes article confirming a difference in how frames are calculated in the game. frames make a HUGE difference to games, why would it make a difference to pro fps players but not to this game. you are so full of shit trying to defend the game

I asked because it gives me a clearer view of what you rely on within the game, because depending on what you use it may show that you’re not likely to run into the same problem that I did at that time.

I also got my hands on a Legendary Hand Cannon called Lord High Fixer that has base 248 damage maxing out around 308, with an 11 round magazine. The upgrade tree on this thing is retarded. Hear me out on this one
Killing an enemy with this weapon grants bonus ammo directly to the magazine
Missing a shot has a chance to return ammo directly to the magazine
Yeah the two frame thing doesnt matter for shit in this game. It only matters in fighters because dropped frames could mean a dropped combo and cost you the game. This isnt executionally demanding. Look at people. Shoot people. They die.
