Fuck “Heroic” strike missions. Literally one shot from any enemy almost kills you. It makes the already slow game even slower.

I agree. I’m not doing any heroic shit until I’ve hit at least level 20.

I got fucked up doing it with a Level 22 and 20 hunters. I’m a Level 20 Warlock the fights were literally taking potshots at dudes and dying whenever I did my super or threw my grenade.

Also my bro was wondering why I was frustrated/bored and when I told him that this wasn’t fun he was like “Stop dying and it will be”. :mad:

He doesn’t understand the level gap for this game. If you aren’t either higher than, equal to, or one level lower than an enemy, you’ll get bodied pretty quick.

So, anyone know where the soccer balls come from?

One spawned in front of me by the table by the bounties dude in the Beta. Also sometimes a giant purple bouncy ball spawned instead of the football. I don’t know if there was any certain criteria that had to be met. I was literally just walking from the weapons guy and poof, football.

Just curious to see how much Destiny has changed from beta to release, so what are the changes since?

I can’t wait. Not sure what else there is to say. I trust them to tell a good story and deliver great gameplay.

I haven’t played ODST or Reach so maybe those were narrative strokes of genius and I really liked Halo 1’s story focusing on guilty spark and the flood. That being said Halo 2 and 3 had cringe worthy plots and the pacing of their campaigns were just really boring so I don’t understand how Bungie and “good story” go together.

So I just played 3 hours of Destiny tonight and while I have some issues with it overall I’m very impressed, it seems Bungie has taken 3 steps forward and 1 step back from Halo. I was skeptical about it ever since it was announced 2 years ago because I assumed it would be a Halo MMO and to a large extent it is, but I never thought a halo MMO would be so fun. It also seems to have borrowed from Mass Effect, Star Wars, and Borderlands while having it’s own identity.

Pros:
-Badass powers
-Meaningful skill trees
-Visually appealing art direction it’s not as bland and generic as Halo’s art is
-Atmospheric and good sense of world building, the game does a good job of making me curious about the universe and exploring it and the lore
-Loot
-Good customization options
-Combat is fast and fun, especially with large groups of enemies
-I like the HUD disruption effect when you get dropped to 1/3 health
-Enemies are aggressive
-In the first Earth level I wandered into some area and got 1 shotted by a hallowed knight…please give me much more of this Dak Souls feeling, put in a lot more high level enemies
-Joining other people’s games or having random people join you is seamless
-Missions feel important, I don’t feel like a random errand boy
-Melee attack is satisfying

Cons:
-Like Halo the weapons in Destiny are kind of boring like your average shotgun, rifile, etc
-Sluggish movement especially while sprinting you can’t turn quickly, Bungie intentionally wants you to not be able to manuever well while sprinting
-Reused assets from Halo like shotgun sound effects
-Plays a little too much like Halo
-Jump still too floaty
-Cooldown on powers are too long
-Music is meh
-Grenades are not as strong as they were in Halo, they don’t do nearly enough splash damage and have small blast radius
-I’m interested in the premise of Destiny, but game is way too vague and dialog is too solemn and awkward

Anyone knows if the offer of buying Destiny on PS3 and get the upgrade for ps4 still works?
I am gonna buy it for my brother who has a ps3 and is going to buy a ps4 later this year.

Also, it doesn’t have an online pass on last gen right?

The offer is supposed to be valid until the 15th of January, so as long as you buy it for PS3 digitally before that it should still work.
