Destiny, as a whole, probably has the highest amount of aim-assist in any console FPS I’ve played. I’ve always found its PVP to be more on the casual side. I don’t see them changing that. Plus most of the maps still favor a shotgun due to their size.
Funny thing is, during year 1 preydths revenge was my favorite sniper, I didn’t like stickyness of the others, then I moved to Her Benevolence which I like. Now I use the 1000Yard Stare and it feels just like the Benevolence, but now it’s the new gun to hate, which is funny to me. Everyone hated Suros/Shotguns, then Thorn/Last Word, then Red Death/Messenger, and now MIDA and 1000Yard. The pvp is just funny to me.
You must not play Crucible very much then. Because like I said, It’s the only sniper rifle I’ve seen in weeks. I was doing trials yesterday right? My friends revive orb was in front of the big door way and there is a sniper watching it from center. I have on Alpha Lupi as a nightstalker. I sprint forward while holding X. I slide. Revive is finished. I shadestep BACKWARDS. I die from a headshot when my movement was on an X axis to the snipers position. Weapon used? 1000 Yard Aim Assist. Ask any of my friends. The most ridiculous kills by sniper they’ve received is always that specific fucking gun.
Never seen anything ridiculous with Hereafter. Worst I’ve seen with Black Spindle was when I one shotted a full health hammer bro but I havent been able to recreate that since then. I actually can’t name any other snipers besides the Tao Hua Yuan, and that’s only because I used that thing for strikes and raids before I got my spindle. The game right now is snipers. And the sniper is 1000 Yard Stare.
EDIT: Afterthought. Honestly I felt that the balancing before this most recent patch was pretty fair. Nothing really absolutely dominated. Sure you had a pulse rifle or two like Nirwen and Merain being a little annoying, but they werent unstoppable juggernauts of weaponry. I was beating the things with my various hand cannons. Alll they really had to do was touch up hammer bros a bit so they werent a walking death sentence with unlimited health.
Well, finally up to 300 Light thanks to the races. Still not getting the hang of it yet ironically, but at least some drops have happened. Time to put down the weapons and enjoy some chili for tonight though.
After this Oryx challenge is done, Idk really what’s left to do in this game. Crucible maybe. And apparently there are some special quests to unlock from cans of red bull? Meh.
I think that Red Bull promotion ended a few months ago. I could be wrong. I remember some other game developers making fun of that shit. Like the dudes from Dying Light
For pvp that gun is still good 45 crit with that rate of fire melts people and trades with heavy weapons
And they will never patch it
I just wish they would bring it back up in power for pve so it’s a all purpose gun again

Man… the only time i use a fusion rifle is on the dark blade strike. Ive got an iron banner 315 one just sitting in my vault… man i need more vault space lol.
I use fusion rifles for nightfall strikes that a have a burn on them because they take advantage of it the most.
Also decides to join the 1000 yard club. Pulled it out of my vault then infused it and upgrade with motes. Mine has firefly, skip rounds, and last resort on it. Its so fucking easy to headshot people
