Legendary Marks aren’t capped at all. At least they’re not supposed to be.

The cap only applies to doing the weekly heroic strike iirc. You can get as many marks as you want, it’s just a matter of finding and dismantling legendary weapons and completing quests. Weapons seems to be the most “consistent” way.

I think he was just referring to the two consistent ways you can get marks, which is Vanguard Strikes and the Crucible Playlist. I’ve heard the guaranteed marks you can get from Crucible are obtained for the whole account, while the Strike ones can be done on each character. I’m not sure though.

There’s definitely no cap to how many you can obtain though, I have 73. Two away from being able to buy these fucking Crucible boots I need.

Aside from chests, breaking down year two purples, and the specific playlists that give them to you, a good way to get them is to do the quests you get from the Tower. I’ve also gotten some from turning in bounties.

ABSOLUTE GUIDE TO GET BETTER LIGHT FOR TTK

First get the new sub-class. Then start doing bounty, mission to get to 40
You should be 40 with ease
DON’T DO THE DAILY CRUCIBLE TIL YOU’RE 39-40, YOU WON’T GET THE LEGENDARY MARKS.
After finishing the main story quest line, you should get a few more new quests. Focus on those: Taken War: Mars, Venus and Earth, they all reward 20 marks for just one easy step, Vanguard’s Hand and Never Ending Battle reward 25 marks/each.
Use your mark to buy a piece of armor of kick start your light level. If you’re looking for the cheapest option: the Speaker has a 280 class item for only 60 marks.
Remember: Weapons are 12% of your light level, armors are 10% and artifacts/class item/ghost are only 8%.
Start doing 36 strikes and quests. Many quests give legendary gears and even exotic.
Keep an eye on the Never Ending Battles that required you to complete a certain amount of strikes. It gives you a 300 light fusion/shotgun in the end.
The light level of your drops are determined by your current light level. For example: I’m light level 280, so I can get blue and purple as low as 260~ and as high as 290+.
ALWAYS EQUIP THE GEARS WITH BEST LIGHT, DON’T LOOK AT STATS AND PERKS RIGHT NOW. THEY’RE USELESS AT THIS POINT. IF YOU SEE LEGENDARY WITH GOOD ROLLS, JUST PUT THEM AWAY FOR LATER.
-The name of the game is getting more and more engrams so you can get more light level.
When you get engrams, decrypt them one at a time. Check the light, if it has better light, equip it immediately and move on. It will better your chance at getting higher light gears.
If you have to infuse, it should be a very good roll weapons that will help you in PVE.
Once you get to 260 light, you should start doing Heroic Strikes for marks. I’ve heard that bosses specific drops and streak only apply on Heroic you can get better rewards there.
Reach 280? Hit the Nightfall. Hope for something good.
Keep on grinding strikes/CoO/quests.

Anyway, gonna copy-pasta something I posted in the official forums. Just riffing off some theoretical shit.

In an interview with Game Informer last month Bungie made reference to an unnamed abandoned sub-class where the Warlock would be like a necromancer, summoning fallen foes. I thought, “That’s an awfully Hive-like thing to do. How did that conversation even start? “Hey let’s have the Warlock do this thing the witches do.” What an odd ability to even muse about.” Yes, those were my exact thoughts. Really.

Anyway, I got thinking that sometime years ago Bungie had three sub-classes in mind, and removed one for later. I’m going to assume that this mysterious 4th sub-class was the intended expansion incentive for either Year 2 or a sequel. It may still be for the sequel, we’ll see at E3 2016. But all that is revisionist conjecture. What I wanna riff about is my theory on why the 4th sub-class for all three main classes will be their version of The Darkness.

The biggest thing I’m going off is this necromancer Warlock thing. It’s an unusually specific ability that doesn’t fit into any of the three established elements of the Destiny universe. So I thought, “Perhaps Warlock’s new sub-class merely emulated Hive. And the other subclasses would emulate other enemies.” Except most enemies use the same three elements we use, including the Hive. The Hive by themselves aren’t elemental. Just creepy. So I started thinking about what other element could a hypothetical Warlock use to do anything even remotely Hive-like?

The Darkness.

The Darkness is antithetical to Light obviously. And on the Guardian side, we’ve translated Light into these three elements. It’s worth noting that we haven’t wielded the Traveler’s Light in its purest form, but that’s a theory for another day, I guess. Anyway, so Darkness is opposite Light. We’ve used Light primarily this whole time, what if something requires us to ‘steal’ the power of The Darkness? If Bungie thought about it in a poetic, binary kind of way then they surely had the Darkness power source in-mind, leading to a potential 4th Sub-class - leading to this mentioned ‘Dark Warlock’ - leading to a seemingly innocent throwaway anecdote on an article few people actually cared to read.

If a 4th sub-class were to be introduced for all three classes, I’d expect it to the be based on The Darkness. But we’d only be adopting the dark, not raised and molded by it like the true Darkness. So I imagine that by this point we’d be taking the fight to them, but that’s just my guess.

He’s selling a new Warlock Exotic gauntlet and Exotic helmet engram. Be sure NOT to buy the heavy engram unless you want old stuff. It’s a Legacy Exotic engram only meant for folks who want to finish their Year 1 collections.

Will probably buy the helmet engram, Warlock gauntlets and Coins of Three (stacks the chances of an Exotic drop from an Ultra).

Anyway, I was running around the Dreadnaught collecting those Hedium Flakes and decided I won’t pick my sword until I find out more about King’s Fall. My gut says choose solar to deal with those Taken Captains. I could always just get different swords with my other two characters, but I want to focus on my Hunter for right now.

It’s crazy that I have plenty to do when I play. I’ve got about 12 quests, Dreadnaught exploration, gear hunting, King’s Fall, etc. Best of all is that with things being account wide now, I don’t feel pressure to use my other characters just to maximize rewards. It’s been very liberating.

Just tried it on my vita it def works lol. Got an exotic gauntlet engram. 1\5 tries. Not bad lol basically an exotic gauntlet for 7 strange coins

I didn’t play much Destiny a month or so before TTK dropped, so I didn’t stock up on coins. Only have 59, which this farming method should make the most of.

On the plus side, the coins drop a lot more often now.

I don’t think Bungie liked players having so much stashed - mainly from the 27 per week due to the Weekly - because it made “saving for Xur” meaningless. Regular players never had to save up or make a tough decision regarding what to buy.

They messed up by not having anything worth spending strange coins on in the last dlc, so people had a lot of them stocked up. I bought 100 3oC lol and plan to buy more. I was able to get 7 exotics out of 30 3oC.
