Just finished watching the archive. Good, good stuff in there. Seems like they’ve finally got a handle on the economy as well as a nice balance of deliberate and RNG based loot.
Everything they talked about was on point. Nice showing.
Now I’m only concerned about the actual gameplay content and lore exploration.
all I cared for was double vault space, very good news…
all I need is something to find players in game rather than having to use LFG, than I’ll gladly throw money at my damn screen…
Unfortunately, I think big matchmaking changes would only come with a new game with a completely new structure. I think the core of Destiny 1 will stay as is for obvious reasons, but hoping against hope that Destiny 2 has even some basic matchmaking for more activities and HOPEFULLY private matches for PvP.
They may not make private matches available because they wouldn’t be able to give XP for it due to obvious exploits. I doubt they’d add something to the game where players can’t earn XP.
There is a pretty high demand for it though. Hell, even Mario Kart has custom matches that don’t add to your score.
Back when I played the game last, if the initial rocket landed within 3 feet of an enemy, it was guaranteed death. I killed many a group with the Gjallarhorn too. Then again I have a knack for explosives in every shooter I play. Just the other day in Gears 3 I was running from 4 dudes, threw a grenade at a wall in front of me bouncing it to behind me, rolled to the side, triple kill.
Dont get me wrong, the gjallerhorn IS a great weapon, its just that its an exotic rocket launcher…something you’ll only get ammo for 2 or 3x in a PVP match. There’s much better choices because the problem is that literally EVERY LEGENDARY rocket launcher that drops can be re-rolled. So you can roll Grenades & horseshoes (exploding when a rocket is near an enemy) along with another perk like clown cartridge (more ammo on random reloads) on any launcher so you’ll effectively have something comparable to Gallerjorn. the Truth is a bit better in PVP because the tracking is just insane and the blast radius is huge.
all 3 of my chars have a legendary rocket launchers for PVP so that free’s up another Exotic slot so I can use a weapon that’ll have ammo more often.
also I miss GOW, I downloaded GOW 3 last month and still havent played…
i just got an xb1 and am now legend.

Finally hit the level cap yesterday on my Warlock after one last run of PoE. I had two treasure keys and STILL got nothing but shit, but dat Etheric Light was all I really needed. Now there’s pretty much only three things I really want… An Icebreaker, Thorn, and The Ram.
I’ve got the Thorn bounty even, but all those kills I have to get with Void damage are insane. Do you guys have any advice for completing that bounty? I have a Voidwalker, so does the damage from her various skills also count towards the bounty amount?
Yes.
My advice is to enter with 2 friends at a free for all match and that they let you boost by killing them while they kill the others so they don’t interfere.

I guess you might have to hit the level cap to use swords. Wonder what that means for other weaponry too.
Best way other than the FFA solution mentioned already:
Join Control matches and hide behind your teammates. Pick off people from the backline. Being a Voidwalker helps tremendously as you have a setup where literally every kill you get will be Void.
Primary: Atheon’s Epilogue or Word of Crota
Secondary: Void shotgun
Primary: Truth (the tracking is insane)
Christ, I picked the wrong time to get in to this game. Back to university just as I get super into it. The grind is like fucking crack cocaine, it just pulls you in.

I have a few void weapons. Best Machine gun I ever had was the Genghis-E. Doctor Nope was a favorite assault rifle of mine for its retarded fire rate. It was good in PvP but only on small maps.
I dont understand why they bothered to nerf Ghorn/Icebreaker and buff Necrochasm if their attack values can’t be ascended. You will never see these weapons outside normal, non-trials/iron banner crucible. Seems like a waste.

Fucking yes on the sword. I hope this and the new subclasses mean they’re really trying to let people play in more diverse ways than just FPS+occasional skills.
BTW guys, does anyone know if I buy the Taken King physical release that has the original game and both expansions, can I access my same save file from it? See, I have Destiny, but I never bought either expansion, and buying them both and then Taken King now is a huge waste of money, and if the physical release has all of that for $60, then I might as well right? I just want to make sure I don’t have to start over completely cause I have some decent stuff on my characters already.
You should be good. Accounts don’t tie to a specific box serial number.
